Go Mimi!!

Hi Pelican, I'm three months out, started at 295 and now 225. I walk 2-4 miles each day and feel fantastic! You don't need support, just be yourself and do what your doctor says. They day home from surgery is the only day you need help, after that your problem will be changing wardrobes every two weeks! Some people think I cheated by doing this, but WTF who cares right??

I am afraid I have messed up on full liquid phase
CAinSB replied to Jewells70's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
My doc had me eating regular food about a week after, just do what feels right and listen to your doc. Your stomach will let you know! -
Surgery is tough, but you you will be 99% normal within a few days. I'm 3 months out and feel fantastic! GOOD LUCK TOMORROW! !! After surgery, including weeks and months after get on a walking routine. I walked 101.5 miles in June and have 115 miles goal for July. It's the best way to get your body back to business!

How did everyone do today? I walked 2.2 miles for 40 minutes on my lunch break at work and then another 2.5 tonight after dinner. The secret is getting an app for your phone, I use "Map My Walk' which is free. After a week of walking, you will be amazed how fast the pounds drop off the scale. 3 months ago before my sleeve I was almost 300lbs, I'm 225 now and feel fantastic! Unfortunately my weight prevented me from being as active as I wanted and my huge stomach ruled my life.

Obesity is a result of eating too much and not exercising enough. I use to blame it on low thyroid levels and my job....nope. it was the late night McDonald's, eating a whole pizza and laying around watching TV. Most of us are guilty!

Would LOVE to be a bodybuilder post-surgery
CAinSB replied to HaddocksEyes's topic in Fitness & Exercise
Do it! My dream is to run a marathon. ... I'm walking 4-5miles a day and a little running in between. I'm trying to condition myself to get to where I can run a mile without stopping. Need to lose about 20 more lbs. then I think I will be ready to start running. -
Not all of us, but yes. We all fit the stereotype. You don't get fat from working out, walking 4 miles a day and eating lean Protein with veggies. Nobody forced fed us like a foie gras duck. We (ok 99% of us) are all plumpers because we were (and are) lazy and could eat an entire large pizza in 15 minutes, do a dinner bang bang (for you Louis C.K. fans) and like myself ate a Dodger dog every inning at a LA Dodgers game. Yes, I scarfed down 9 Dodger Dogs once in 3 hours. I've exercised more since my sleeve (3 months ago) than I have in the last 10 years. I love my 70lb lighter body! Bariatric surgery is a tool, you need to exercise and eat right for the tool to work.

Sorry...but you have to be fat (like I was and still am) to have bariatric surgery. I'm fat and so are you if you're having bariatric surgery or had it. Alcoholics are boozers, drug addicts are junkies, and overeaters like myself are fatties. No more hiding behind your oversized plate of slop, no more excuses about not having time, and stop watching a full season of Breaking Bad without leaving the couch. Get outside and walk!

I was sleeved March 28, 2014 (down 70lbs) and started walking after surgery as directed by doc. So in May, I decided to start tracking my walking (many free apps!) and did 64 miles. Then June came and my goal was 70, but I broke 100 miles today!!! I don't want to hear any of you former fatties say you don't have time, it was really easy! I walk 30 minutes before kids and wife get up, 45 minutes during my lunch break, and a quick 30-40 minutes in the evening, all about 4-5 days a week. Some days I said F it, I don't feel like doing *hit and did zero. Today, I did 7miles....I tried on my suit today, it's huge! Get walking, it's easy.

That's my plan too, I'm getting the bike out soon!

Hi Jena, my doc wanted me to start eating regular food a week after surgery, you're fine! I struggle with the mental aspect of everything, it's tough. Im 3 months out, down 65lbs.

Starting my pre op friday 5-23
CAinSB replied to momheartsdad's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It's easy. The challenge is all mental! I drank 10-12 premiere protein shakes each day. I cheated a couple times, but with lean protein only. Zero carbs. You can do it! -
6 weeks post op and 40lbs down but no weight loss this week
CAinSB replied to beldary's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Same here! I'm almost 7 weeks and started losing again, but I lost zero from week 5 until a few days ago. -
Stalls mess with your head!
CAinSB replied to aNewTanya's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey Yoyo, I'm 6 weeks out now and find that Im having a harder time now eating than I did around week 2-3. I had a stall around week 3, then lost 20lbs, and stalling again now at week 6. My exercise is walking about 2-3 miles everyday. -
How much did you lose at 3 months?
CAinSB replied to cushy's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I'm 5 weeks today and have lost about 55 lbs. Started pre-op at 293 and now at 238. I'm a 6'0" 40 year-old guy....I saw my doc last Monday and he asked me if I was eating, he was a little concerned that I was losing too fast. BTW, it seems my man boobs (moobs) have grown, or are more defined. For you Seinfeld fans, I need a Bro! -
I'm a little over a month out from getting sleeved and have been trying new foods with mixed and unpredictable results. I've come to the conclusion that I can eat anything, only if I chew the crap out of it!
-
I'm one month out from being sleeved and had two pieces of rainbow roll a couple days ago. It went down fine, but had to chew chew chew. Was full after two slices, can't wait to have again. Uni is my favorite....Sea butter....yum.

Best app with detailed nutritional breakdown?
CAinSB replied to WhoKnows's topic in Food and Nutrition
I tried fooducate, paid the $10 for extra features. -
Fage Greek yogurt! Easy high protein.
-
The nonfat Fage is almost pure protein, I make a smoothie with frozen fruits and chia seed. The Trader Joe's is higher in sugar and lower in protein. Been eating Fage since week 1, 4 weeks post op yesterday.
