suzanneg: I was so glad to see your post. I have been considering doing weight watchers online lately. I was banded in June of 07. I had lost down to 164, but have gained back about 6-8 pounds. I feel like I am at a good restriction level, so I don't need a fill. I just feel like I need to get a little better structure to what I eat. I need some rules to stick to and am hoping that weight watchers will help me find the structure that I need. I would love love love to lose what I gained and then lose the next 30 pounds that I need to lose. I look forward to seeing how you do.

Too funny. I guess mine haven't said bye bye completely, just seem to be saying hello to my belly button these days. Can't wait to get a lift.

scgirl81 replied to Dakota1984's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi. I had such good intentions when I posted my goal. I guess my check-in is that I haven't lost anything. I got fill 2 days ago, so I am hoping that will kick things up a bit. -
15.2 pounds??? Really????? I need a fill like that!

I'm so depressed, I think this was the worst mistake ever.

Also, I think that the cyclic weight thing is common (atleast I think for us women). I know I only lose the week of and after my period. I just try to make sure that I maintain during the other weeks. -
Hello fellow bandsters. I haven't ever posted much, but I haven't even been reading much lately. I am hoping to post and connect with you guys to get and give support. Since the end of April I have been in a funk. I haven't been exercising and have just been eating crap. But effective this week I am turning back around. I have gained almost 10 pounds during this time and have realized I have got to get back on track. I do not want to gain all of my weight back after having worked so hard to lose what I have. Plus I don't want to be a failure at this. So Monday I had an appt for a fill. I was shocked when the PA was not ugly with me. I totally expected him to, but instead he just said that everybody has rebounds and this is the first one that I have had in a year. He gave me a small fill and told me I should talk with the nutritionist in their office to see how to best tackle my "diet". So now I am just trying to stay on track. It is so much harder now than it was in the beginning.

I had my surgery on a Wed and went back to work on Monday.

Eating at disney while banded
scgirl81 replied to devonaravenhold's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was at Disney last week with work. Luckily most of our food was provided and was very healthy, but for lunch we were on our own. I actually brought my own. The parks are ok with that and you save a TON of money. I used the money they gave us for lunch to buy souveniers. -
I actually live in Lugoff, but work in Columbia. I haven't done the support groups. I probably should, but I stay crazy busy most of the time. Dr. Antonetti has done 2 of my fills and James the assistant has done the other.

I take the Centrum chewables, but for some reason I am feeling tired all of the time. In January when I went for my annual exam all of my vitamin levels were fine, so I decided that instead of getting the B-12 injections just yet I will see what my dr says. I have made an appointment with him for Thursday.

bcrazy7 - That is so weird that you ask this. I have only posted a few times and was coming online to ask this same question. Also, I wanted to see is anybody else having energy issues. I have been so yuck feeling for about 3 weeks now and can't seem to get past it. A fellow banded friend told me her old "diet doctor" would sell her B12 shots. She said she asked yesterday if they would sell them eventhough she isn't a diet patient anymore and they said yes. Also, she asked if they would sell them to me since I have never been a patient and they said yes since I am a band patient.

Welcome to the board tskelli. As you can tell there doesn't seem to be a lot of activity on it. Which is too bad because I think there are a lot of banded SC folks out there. I see you used Dr. Antonetti. I am a patient of his also and have been very pleased. Good luck with your journey.

Unjury...Who likes it and who doesn't?
scgirl81 replied to tyme4change's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I switched to Unjury about 3 weeks ago. I bought the Chocolate and mix with light vanilla soy milk. I absolutely love it. It isn't that great mixed with water, but with the soy milk it tastes like chocolate milk. -
6 months pics of the Junies (June 07 Bandsters)
scgirl81 replied to mjsafari's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Here are my 6 month pics. I should have stuck with taking the picture in the kitchen as usual. In this picture I look as big as our Christmas tree. -
AudricIan - Won't your husband see your incisions at some point prior to you telling him?

Are you sure that it is a 9.75 cc band and not a 9.75 cm band. The 9.75 cm band only holds 4cc from what I understand.

I don't have problems with cold drinks, but I have put my cappuccino flavored protein in coffee that is warm, but not boiling. If the water is too hot, the protein will clump. I make mine 2/3 hot water and 1/3 tap water.

CindyJ Thanks for the information and good luck. I kind of like the small towns too. I am from Lugoff. It doesn't get much smaller than that.
-
Welcome to the SC page! I hope your band process goes smoothly.
-
Holliwagz I think if it were me, I would not have the fill. If you are pbing from the fill that you have, you probably need to wait until you get this one under control.
-
I agree with Lisah25. I think I do better when I focus on what I am doing bad. A lot of times getting that one thing in check gets everything else back in balance. For example I love chocolate. Well, if I get to where I am eating a lot of chocolate I tend to feel like I failed and I "medicate" my failure with chips and cheetos and snack cakes. So if I don't eat the chocolate then I don't end up eating the other stuff either.

cindyj good to see a new sc person out here. Where is Woodruff? And what do you mean proctor?
-
OK. Now I am thoroughly confused. I asked my doctor what type band I had. He said an Inamed 9.75 something. I assumed that meant it held almost 10 CC. But now I read something that said there was a 9.75 CM band and it held 4cc. So if this is indeed the band I have then I guess I am a little more filled than I originally thought. Somebody Help!
-
Yeah! I got my first fill today finally. Just 1 cc in a 10 cc band. I had hoped that it would be a little more, but I guess I won't complain. I didn't really expect him to do it today because he said I was losing weight very well without it (11 pounds in 6 weeks), but I guess he could tell I really wanted to. I am not really excited about doing the whole liquid to mushy diet again, but I guess it will be worth it in the long run and it is only a week. Also, they couldn't schedule my next appointment until 12/27. My doc only does them every 6 weeks and with Thanksgiving, Christmas, and a vacation that is his first available. I guess I will try to call and see if somebody cancels.
