Rene, Don't beat yourself up over this. Everyone makes silly schedule errors like that. Especially when it comes to jury duty. Who thinks about things like Jury Duty? I mean it's not like you forgot about a trip to Disney Land, or the Camin Islands. I think your bosses will respect your honesty (afterall you could have made something wonderful up) and your courage to step right up and admit the mistake. No manager wants an employee who refuses to admit a mistake. Anyway, try to enjoy Jury Duty. If anyone asks you if you agree with the phrase "Where there's smoke, there is fire," be careful how you answer, it's a trick question.

Good morning everyone, happy first Sunday in October! Today we are going out for our anniverary to see a show and dinner. Grandma is coming to watch Zach, so he won't even know we are gone. I won $3.00 on a scratch off game yesturday. I never win anything so this was exciting. Although I did pay $3.00 for the ticket in the first place. So does this count as winning?

I was thinking about starting a thread called "October Chat"

Glo, I am really sorry to hear about your hospital experience. I just went back to refresh my memory with your previous posts about the Dr quitting the practice and the rescheduling and all that. It seems like nothing has gone right. Do you think you would consider switching to another surgeon for your aftercare? It sounds like you really need someone new and right now.

I have off from work tomorrow. I think we will go to Walmart and buy some light bulbs. Sunday we are going to a local production of Urinetown and then to dinner for our anniversary. I am really looking forward to Walmart, it is one of my favorite stores.

Hi all, I have nothing interesting to report. I bought new sweat pants today at Target because they were on sale for $5.00. It was nice to not have to pay extra for the XX sizes.
-
That's great news Lisa! I am very happy for you. The easy part is only a short time away!

Rene, my semi-sarcastic crack about the implants was because after my surgery, I bought 1 (yes one) share of Inamed stock, just for amusement purposes. So, with the implant being approved I made like $3.00 over the past 2 days.

Thanks for the kind words Rene, the answer to everything is no. I guess, I wasn't really expecting this kind of reaction. I still am not hungry at all. Wow this is great. Great news, the FDA approved Inamed's breast implant today! Are you going to be affected by Rita in your area?

Hi, Things are going well for me. No PB Eating mostly chicken type products, Crystal Lite, Water. Gym 45 minutes a day, 6 days a week, mostly cardio, some weights. First Fill 4 days ago, 1cc, feel great restriction, not hungry at all, don't want to eat. Rest of the stats below. If you click on the weights you can see the fat/fat free mass changes. -
Good morning Jen, Congratulations. Don't worry you will be fine. You may find that taking that much time off working against you. At least for me, getting back to work ASAP really helped distract me from any post surgical ailments. It really helped speed my recovery. I actually inquired about voice change and any speech patern changes before the surgery and was told no. This has held true for me so far. I am an EMS Dispatcher and transmit on the radio, so my voice was a concern, I have lost 35 lbs and there has been no change. I will hang out in the chat room for a while if get this in time and you want talk.

After the fill friday, I was told to have liquids only until Monday (today). I don't think I could really eat anything right now if I wanted to. I have been satisfied with the liquids only and am not hungry at all. If I go by the evil bathroom scale, I have lost 3 1/2 lbs just in the last 3 days. I will check for real at the gym later.

OK LISA!! Congratulations, you are on your way.

The cake was sugar free, fat free, low carb, and high fiber and tasted like...

Hi I, it's I, don't forget I is in the Catskills this weekend. Sorry I couldn't resist. I had my first fill, yesterday. It was grossly uneventful. No pain, nothing to it. But like magic, I was suddenly feeling just like after the surgery. No hunger, no desire to eat or drink. My drinks are going down nicely but I can feel it's slower than normal. They don't want me to eat anything until Monday, so I guess I will have a nice weight loss just from this weekend. We are going to see Sesame Street Live at the arena today. That should be fun, we went last year and it was great. Now that Zach is 3 he will understand and enjoy even more. When we go food shopping this weekend I will be looking for Raja's Cup. I'm On on a mission now. Delarla's request for pictures in the avatars is great!

Happy Birthday and congratulations. Your success is truly inspiring.

Rene, thanks for reminding me to return here. It turns out the tickets to the show that I wanted to go to were not available until the October 2nd, so the dinner was postponed. But on the bright side, this year it was made clear to my wife that I remembered our anniversary without all sorts of subtle hints. There is a new Greek/Turkish restaurant in town so I think we are going to try that. It should work out becuase you can always count on a Kabob to taste just as good tomorrow, and the day after. Spinach pie holds up well and makes a healthy Breakfast also. I had my consult (ahem) at gym. The idea was that they were going to help me develop a more structured exercise program. Well, 45 minutes later I came out with startling new information... GUESS WHAT, according to their sophisticated computer calculations, I am out of shape and get this, I am overweight! Now mind you, this revelation came out after I filled out a 4 page health question form, and like the simple person that I am, actually told the truth about previous hypertension, obesity, and the Lap-Band surgery. So with fitness dude looking like he needed more information, I decided to do my own seminar on all the aspects of the Lap-Band including a comparison to Gastric Bypass. I think my presentation was quite comprehensive, but I know could do better if I had Power Point or Slides. Armed with all this information, my fitness consultant promptly handed me a MEDICAL RELEASE form for my doc to sign! I guess I should also bring in the films from my pre-surgery Nuclear imaging and Angiogram. I understand that lack of understanding and legal concerns trigger this response, but come on, I have been going there 6 days a week, 40 minutes a day for 2 and half months. Is the program they are going to put together that much more UNSAFE than what I have been doing? OK, one final insult, he measured my body fat using a set of calipers. I know I am into technology, but come on, a caliper? Didn't Christopher Columbus use these to identify morbidly obese crewmembers when he made is first trip to Jersey City NJ in the mid 1400's? Whatever, at any rate, the body fat readings and ideal body weight prediction did not match up at all to what the doctor's $1,800.00 body composition analyzer said. However, we did all agree on my current weight. All this consulting really wore me out, so I had to skip my workout that day. { RANT COMPLETED, I will be seeking help for my problem with excessive sarcasm } I go for my first fill in 4 hours from this writing. I am excited and a little nervous. I know what to expect in general, but I am just anxious about how my anatomy will react. But I'm sure it will be fine. The timing is perfect because I have only lost 2 1/2 pounds since the last visit, so it is time. Penni, where did you find Raja's Cup? In the coffee aisle or ethnic foods? I don't know if we have that product around here. I love Indian foods and beverages; I would really like to try it. My Inamed stock has been dropping over the last few days. A nice relaxing Indian coffee is just what I need.

Great idea, maybe have the CHAT link light up bright red when people are on the chat page. (The only thing that would be better than that would be built in spell-check )
-
Ok, how's this? I figured it would serve a dual purpose if it's not too small.

Does anyone have any experience with Life Insurance companies in relation to the Lap-Band? Do they view it as a good thing? Will having it done lower my premium? Or do they view it as a potential risk? Since common sense & logic does not always prevail in these sorts of things, anyone direct experience with this please share... THANKS
-
Sorry about the rough time, I am glad you are doing better!

Well, How did it go? How are you doing??
