  1. I can't wrap my head around why someone would buy junk food for their obese child. Why wait to introduce good habits?
  2. My little scar where he took my stomach out is barely noticeable. It was much smaller than I thought it would be. I showed a friend and she couldn't belief that was where my stomach came out! I had a mole between my boobs removed recently and it looks about the same as that. The other incisions look like day old scratches. Pretty bright but not like wounds at all. I will be two months next week and I am shooting for 30 lost post op. But more that the amount of weight lost which will be what it is, is the rapid healing. I have had almost zero complications. I overate once, ate mustard too early, and threw up immediately after surgery. That is about it! I am very confident that I have an excellent sleeve.
  3. But billc, you insinuated that you had heard multiple complaints about Baja Bariatrics. And you just joined? Was it specifically to put your two cents in on this thread?

    Baja Bariatrics

Great surgeon. Great treatment by the staff. A great experience. Best thing I ever did for myself.
  5. I'm trying to figure out how all this would go down. You are bandaged, oozy, farty, belchy, tired, pukey, and dehydrated. Sexy times.
  6. You say this is based on fact but until facts are out there then it is rumor.
  7. I didn't have too much problem getting calories in at two weeks but I was still on liquid with about 3 shakes a day and then yogurt, cottage, soup etc. I was worried that i could eat so much so early but then when I moved to more solid food the restriction was evident. Your doc seems to have a pretty liberal diet plan.
  8. I went alone a couple of weeks ago. It was just fine. What I would suggest is looking at both the surgeon and coordinator for while you are down there. Also see if the Dr. you choose has an online support group, I found it very helpful and "knew" some of the folks I'd be down there with prior to getting there. I'll just put a little plug in for Dr. Illan. His staff and coordinator are great. I was never alone (ecept in the hotel, but my sleeve sister was in the room net door). There is also a thriving online support group on Facebook.

Anybody else tired of the attention?

You could try being more assertive "I'd prefer to talk about other things" "I don't know you well enough to discuss this with you." "I'm sure you are well intentioned but I really don't know what to say in response." Or you could be even more firm "Why do you think that is an okay statement?" "Why are you so interested in my personal life?"
  10. Going to the Angeles hospital is not inconvenient because you are essentially sprung from the hospital at that time and on your way to a restaurant to get some broth. I was told Dr. Illan does no more than 3 a day. But when I was there, there were only one or two a day.
  11. It's really important. You probably would have been happy with just a little bit of Beans because they would sit in your stomach for a bit. Water washes them down so they aren't in your stomach as long. So you eat more. This can effect your weight loss. Maybe look up some basic info on the sleeve. You might be missing other important stuff.
  12. Do not drink fluids with your food. Stop drinking half an hour prior and 30 min - an hour after (different drs. have different timing on this issue.) but I was told this was the most important rule.
  13. She has a right not to think WLS is a great idea. My friends do all sorts of things I never would and don't think are great ideas but it doesn't get in the way of me loving them. She mentions being "triggered" several times. Her opposition to your decision doesn't seem to have anything to do with you, it has to do with her own feelings about herself. This isn't an easy process and you need to seek support where you find it. It's hard to lose a friend but she she has too many issues to be supportive to you. And ditto what Keish Lorraine said. Lol.

I was told it would be unbearably painful.
