Cigna OAP require 3 or 6 month for approval

So far, Cigna isn't requiring me to pay those extra copay fees I've been hearing about; except for the normal $100 copay my insurance require for the hospital stay. Thank God!

Cigna OAP require 3 or 6 month for approval

I spoke to my surgeons coordinator and she told me again today that I needed to wait six months. I asked her to submit the paper work next week after my pre-op class just in faith to see what happens. She was persistent in saying I needed to wait six months before she would submit the paper work because everyone who has Cigna insurance beginning with an "U" all were denied. I asked her to submit it anyway and we will go from there. SMH....She also said that Maryland requires 6 months although Cigna requires 3 months...that doesn't make sense at all....I am officially discouraged and frustrated.
  5. How soon after surgery were you all able to shower?? Did the water hurt your incisions??

Cigna OAP require 3 or 6 month for approval

Wow, SparkleCat, I hope everything work out for you. That is a concern for me also. If I have to go through the 6 month period, I cannot have surgery until after June 10th. But if it is 3 months, like the documents said, I have four months under my belt and hopefully I can get approved. I will see next week.

OMG Andrew0929, this information is very helpful. I am going to take this to my next appointment. This is what I've been looking for!! Bufflehead (like you said) I am going talk to my HR rep and take this info to my next appointment. I just don't want to prolong the surgery if I don't have to, especially if I have four months under my belt already. Wow, I needed this info badly! Thank you!

    On The Other Side

Congratulations! I am still going through my process. It's encouraging to know that everything went well for you! Best wishes in your journey
  16. I thank God for this forum, why? 1. I have gained so much knowledge from other's personal experiences, whether good or bad. 2. I feel like I am part of a great support group that has followers from across the nation and world. 3. I am always encouraged to see something like this (the article) that makes my decision to become sleeved easier. I blamed myself for not enough of what ever my former surgeon said to do. I followed the plan, worked out in the gym, cut out carbs, and the thought of having another weight loss surgery had me mixing in a bowl of guilt. But I am not feeling guilty any longer because I know that I wasn't the only one who felt let down by the lapband. So thank you for this information!!
  17. Greetings everyone, I am so overwhelmed of the thought of another surgery. How will I know the sleeve will work for me? How will by body look after I lose the weight? I am extremely afraid of the pain and not being able to make it through the first three days? Can I really make it through? Is the pain really that bad? Some of those YouTube videos are horrific!! Can I really do this? My thoughts are over taking everything in my life right now and it's all centered around the sleeve surgery. Maybe I am placing too much thought into it, but sometimes fear grips my heart and I cannot image how life would be afterwards. HELP!!
  18. 1959JimmyJames, I appreciate your honesty!! Ice chips magically appearing?! LOL LOL I am glad to know that and a iv for pain meds which I can control? ! YES!! That make it a little easier. Congratulations on your weight loss
  19. All of you are amazing and so helpful. Your words are encouraging and my mind is a little more at ease by your response. I can do this! I am not a sucker! LOL LOL well a little, but my hubby will be here to help. And I am sure no amount of pain for a moment will compare to how much better I will feel in the long run. Thank you for your prayers and I pray you all have a successful journey as well.
  20. Thank you for your words...it really mean a lot. I appreciate the links. It was very helpful

Band to Sleeve Failure and "Desperate"

Thank you delamoras3, I've had my band for only three years. But, it's so frustrating to watch others have the sleeve, brag, lose half their weight within 6 months, and here I am still struggling and my blood pressure is still sky rocketing. I have lost 36 pounds. I've worked out, joined programs, eaten right and then i'lI get discouraged and give up after no seeing the results of my hard work. I am so nervous of the thought of another surgery. Is it the right thing to do? And I am embarrassed to have to do this again. *sighs* I just don't want to continue to feel like a failure if this does not go well. So many times I have convinced myself that "I got this" and another fat summer is in view and another summer covered. After hearing so many stories and watching so many youtube videos...the good out weight the bad, but it's the bad that has me feeling reluctant. Pray for me

Band to Sleeve Failure and "Desperate"

Hi there, I am new to this forum, and I am considering revision band to sleeve surgery. I've watched multiple youtube videos, some good and some horrible; therefore, I am very nervous to meet with the new surgeon tomorrow. I like this forum and it is very helpful. Because the band did not work out as well as I thought it would, my biggest fear with the revision is failing. I appreciate how you all give your feed back and encouragement. so so nervous!!
