  1. I eat things like lean meats. Fish, chicken,Turkey. All high in Protein. eggs,Cottage cheese. are also good. I am six months out and I get between 80 and 120 protein a day. I have had some days that I don't get much protein and to many carbs and those days sure do through every thing off. Even the way I feel.
  2. I had same thing for a little bit. I could not sleep on my left side with out a lot of pain but it got better and went away after awhile. I am sure it was because of nerves and muscle. But would not hurt to have scans and be sure it is not something else.

    I am scared

Well I hate to admit it because I am supposed to be a big tough guy lol But I was nervous as hell the night before surgery and the day of. I did not let any one know but I know my wife had me figured out. I was very quit and watched every one like a hawk lol so she knew I was uneasy. I think it is natural though. I mean it is a big decision and there are always risk and always in the back of your mind you wonder if it is all worth it and will it work. Them feelings will go away or lighten up. You will get through it and it will be well worth it I know my belief's helped me also when I handed it all over and relaxed
  4. I did kind of the same thing but I made a hard boiled egg and blended it in to powder pretty much and I had 1 tsp of it mixed with a little mayo and some spice. And I got chewed out from my doc like I had just tried to kill my self or something. I was a couple weeks post op at that time. My surgeon is one of the strictest but he also has done around 6k of these WLS's and has only had one leak. Three weeks liquids and three weeks pureed then move to soft. I am seeing that every surgeon is different on post op diet. It make me wonder how each ones record is. Also every body is different as well. I have had no problems at all and others have a hard time. So be careful what you try
  5. I try to stay with Scheduled intervals.

    Anyone from Oregon?

I am in South eastern Oregon. Had gastric sleeve done in Central Oregon on March 11th and doing real good

    Urgent

If it was me I would go to the emergency room if my surgeon didn't want to do any thing. I had my sleeve on March 11th and I am doing fine I have not throwed up at all and hope I don't. Every one is different though. I know my surgeon did not want me to get sick so they was right on top of things from the start. I would say being 8 weeks post op she should not still be on just water so she needs to get checked out. Being that she is lethargic and answers your questions very slowly is why she may want to get blood sugar checked because she may be to low. Does she use any kinds of drugs ? Don't take me wrong I mean we have all been 21 and don't always do the right thing and I have heard that drug use can cause problems after surgery. Just trying to look at every angle. For sure she should get looked at and if my surgeon did not want to do his job then I would... well he would know I was unhappy lets put it that way

Able to eat way more than I thought I would

I am 7 weeks post op. I was on Protein drinks for three weeks and pureed/soft foods for another three weeks. Right now I can eat about 8 oz at meal time with no problems. Last night I think I eat closer to 12 oz and my meal was 261 cal. 35 protein and 6 carbs. It was my biggest meal yet. I was uncomfortable afterwords for about 30 min. There are a couple reasons I did not feel well after. 1: I eat to fast and did not chew like I should have. 2: I had about 4 oz to much. 3: I may have had to much protein in one sitting. 4: I used a lot of spice. My wife even said her lips was numb from the Cayenne. I normally alway mesure my food out and eat on smaller plates so it looks like a lot of food. I eat slow and chew well. I also don't drink diring the meal or 30- 50 min. after. and I been doing great. I never have that full feeling like before surgery but I always seem to be satisfied except for cravings in my head. Like I would love to go have a nice cheese burger lol But I avoid that kind of stuff. I have found if I keep carbs low, Protein high and drink lots of Water I don't eat as much and can go awhile between meals. Right now I am staying close to 1000 cal. between 20-50 carbs and between 60-100 protein a day. So far I think I have only been hungry one time and the rest has been head hunger and I don't react to that.

    Question!?!

    I become more active

Is the water safe to drink?

I think it all depends on where you live. I know the water is great in our town but when we go to bigger cities I always drink bottled water and even some of it you have to becareful where it is bottled and how they do it.

    Sleevers over 300lbs?

I was at 410 when I decided to have surgery and surgery day I was at 378. I am 5 weeks post op now and I am at 349. Lost 28 lbs my first three weeks post op and one lb in the last two weeks But doing good and no problems at all
  12. I did cream of Mushroom, cream of chicken etc. But for the most part I stuck with the protein drinks mixed in Crystal light and counted the days till I could start on Pureed foods

    Lesson learned, starting over

Schwinngirl1987 Sorry to hear that. I know I had 8 months to lose 25 lbs and I did it and then I gained it all back. I had like 4 weeks left before my surgery date and I went on a crash diet. I went on Protein shakes and tried that for a little bit and could not stand it so I just cut my calories down to about 500 a day. The first week I lost 16 lbs the second week I lost 8 lbs the third week I gained 4 lbs. The last week I lost 8 lbs and the day before surgery I was 7 lbs below what the doc wanted me to be at. I was very worried they would postpone my date and I did not want to have to wait any longer after waiting 8 months. Any way hang in there I am sure you will make the next date
  14. srivers76 Hang in there. I know a time or two after surgery I would sit and wonder what the hell I did and did I do the right thing. But it will get better. I know the first three weeks is the hardest when you cant stand the Protein drinks and your not hungry and have to remind your self it is time for a protein drink. One thing I did was mixed my protein in crystal light and it made them go down better. Not sure about your doc and what they want you to do but I know at three weeks or 21 days I was able to move on to pureed food. Once I got to that stage I liked it much better because I could play with my food and spice things up a little so I could eat what I liked even though it was like baby food texture. I am at 5 weeks post op now and doing good and eating pureed/ soft foods. It's still a good idea to through in a prtein drink from time to time though if you are not getting enough protein. Don't let depresion keep you down though. I think every one gets that feeling from time to time with all that we have gone through.
  15. You would think that the water you mix with protein would count as water intake I know my normal water intake before surgery has always been around 40 to 48 oz a day unless I am traviling then I will do more. Guess not having any thing to do but drive makes me drink more lol When I was working construction work and younger I would drink a gal a day easy. After surgery I drank what they told me to and had lots of popcycles. After I got home I drank 4 8oz glasses of water a day and I think I am drinking about 6 now so 48oz a day. Still not good enough for what the doc wants but I am far from dehydrated or any thing. Maybe once I start doing more I will drink more Bring on the fishing poles
