Hello
My name is Chuck and I am 48 years old. I had my WLS on March 11th. I had a few little problems like blood loss and guess I got a little growly in recovery. But all went well really.
I see my surgeon in a couple days for my two week appointment. I hope since it will be 15 days after surgery he will give me the green light to go on to phase 3 (Pureed food)
I am so tired of having protein drinks and my pallet would love some flavor ( Something more then sweet stuff )
I have already walked a little longer and I can stand a little longer then before surgery. I have always had back and hip problems even before my weight gain. But it is getting easier.
I have had no real side effects as of yet so I am thankful for that. I have had some problems laying on my sides in bed but that is getting better now. I was badly bruised on my left side people say it looks like I took a bad beating. It is going away now also though.
I have been loosing 2 lbs a day since my release from the hospital on March 14th. I also have taken two shots of my insulin since my release and that’s pretty good since I was taking between two and five shots before surgery. I have been off all other meds since surgery as well.
I look forward to my journey and being able to get around better.
2018 Update
I lost almost 100 lbs after my VSG, Then I hurt my back and was not able to exercise and then started all my bad habits again. I gained most all my weight back so started seeing the surgeon again and decided to have a revision to the Roux-en-Y on April 17th 2018. I am now 6 weeks post op and starting to have problems with throwing up after meals. Normally it is 2 - 4oz that gets me sick. I do fine on water and premier protein shake. I am going to change things up a little before contacting my DR about it to be sure it is not what I am eating instead of somthing being wrong. I have lost 36 lbs. in 6 weeks and getting around good.
