I just called my doctors office and left a message with the answering service to have the doctor or nurse to call me. Another problem....I had a full bottle of the liquid pain meds because I haven't been using it and ended up spilling all but half a dose. The bottle is the type that has a top that you stick the serenge in and dispense the meds that way, well when I went to take it out of the top, the top came off and I spilled it:/ what a day..... CVS sells a liquid Tylenol type medicine. I took the medicine the doctor gave me for 2 days then took the CVS brand extra strength liquid pain medicine for the next few days. I have a hard time with strong pain medicine so I didn't want to stay on the hard stuff longer than I had to. The CVS brand is GREAT! It really helped me!!Hope it helps!I am 4 weeks post-op today. Eating soft foods. Feeling great!!! Actually better than I thought I would sooner than I thought I would!!Week 1 I was STARVING!! Week 2 I was nauseated!! (If I tried to drink too much protein drink or water at one time.)Week 3 I was TIRED!! All day, every day!! It sucked!!Now, in week 4 I'm doing great. I have only dumped 2ce in 4 weeks and both times I knew I was full and had another small bite. LESSON LEARNED!! LmaoI read a lot of what people on here talk about but I'm wasn't really sure how to respond. I've only posted a couple of times by luck I think. Lol

That is horrible news! My prayers go out to her family. Does anyone know what happened?

I had my surgery yesterday and I'm back home on my sofa. I actually feel amazing! Sore, yes, moving a little slower, yes, but all things considered I feel great! I have had small sips of lemonade and broth and 2 sugar free popcicles. I'm hoping I sleep good tonight knowing the nurse won't be waking me up every 2 hours to take my vitals! Lol My instructions were clear liquid diet for 2 -3 days then gradually add fat free or 1% milk. I would not eat the puréed chicken either because it will make you sick!! Anyway, I've read bunches of posts on here with people who are having a really hard time of it and I was petrified so I wanted those of you who haven't had surgery yet that not everyone has such a hard time! Have a great day! God bless all of us recovering and those getting ready for surgery!

Go get your hair and nails done before surgery! One less thing you need to worry about! I'm getting mine done too but getting clear polish on my fingers and toes because I was told no polish too. They look at your nails to make sure you get your color back after surgery! (They don't do it so you don't feel pretty! There's a reason! Lol) My surgery is this Friday the 11th and I'm more anxious than nervous! I'm on my 9th day on the pre op liquid diet and I haven't died (or killed my kids) so I'm doing good!! Lmao I'm hungry and my stomach talks to me A LOT but it's not as bad as I thought! A few people have mentioned items that I need to bring for my hospital stay but I'm curious if anyone that had it recently wished they had something they didn't bring!! Any help here would be appreciated!! So far this is my list: Comfy PJs Slippers & socks Extra panties & panty liners (Someone mentioned you may need these for urine spillage, I'm not taking any chances!!) lol Pillow Hot water pad Gas X strips iPad/phone/chargers Toothbrush & paste Books Lotion Brush and/or comb Dry shampoo Skin care (I have rosacea!) I have been considering this surgery for YEARS but I was too afraid to do it because I am a single mom and if my kids had to go live with their dad they would never forgive me!!! I finally decided to do it because they DO need me to be here for THEIR kids and God willing, their grand kids!! I want to have the life I know now I deserve!! For too long I have put myself on the back burner and lived for my kids! Time for me to love me!!! I'm so glad there are others like me who because of LIFE happening we forgot to LIVE!! Go us!! I'm really proud of all of us for putting ourselves FIRST and good luck and prayers to EVERYONE healing from and preparing for surgery!! DO NOT let ANYONE tell you this is "the easy way out" because there is NOTHING EASY about any of this! I'm just glad to have the support provided here!! Have a WONDERFUL day!! (:

Hi! I'm Amy. I live right outside of New Orleans and I'm a single mom of 3. I am having gastric bypass on April 11th. I am currently on the 14 day liquid diet (day 4). For me this has been the hardest day for some reason! I want to eat everything in sight but just keep eating my sf jello because I was told I could have unlimited amounts of it!
