I started getting fat from the head down. I was a "normal" sized child up to about age 8, when I started getting a very round face and double chin. My body then expanded slowly downwards, giving me a massive tummy and seems to have not made my legs too fat at this stage.

I am 26 now and after much thought about it, decided to take the plunge and have the Gastric Sleeve Surgery.

It took a long time to come to this decision.

I first met someone who had weight loss surgery when I was 21, and they had lapband surgery and great success, but also great horror stories about bands slipping and ending up in emergency in the middle of the night. It made me curious, but I was scared.

Then I started a new job when I was 24 and my boss had had the sleeve just a few weeks prior. She was open, honest, and very patient with my questions, and this eventually led to me asking her who did her surgery, and booking my first pre-op appointment.

I had really decided already. The appointment was more just booking it all in.

Dates were locked, and then I just had to wait. I had the sleeve done on March 17th, 2014, and haven't looked back.
