I am 3 weeks out and tomorrow is my first day back to work. I am very nervous and hoping I have enough energy for 12 hour shift. Also nervous about what to bring to eat. Any suggestions?
-
@RJCmommy....I'm not having any pain but I have zero energy. Just started puréed food today and it was great to finally have something besides liquids but I didn't come close to protein goal. What are you eating?

@Lwren. Thanks for the info on my fitness pal. It seems just what I needed.

Hi all. My surgery date was 3/26 also. I am 58, 5'5" HW 227 SW 218 and CW 208. I would love to join this group as I need support and advice. We can help each other.

Are any of you using a tool to journal your protein and fluids? Hoping to find something specific to keep track.

Band to Sleeve Failure and "Desperate"
RNC111 replied to delamoras3's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had lap band placed in 2006 did well and lost 80 pounds. I was very diligent with eating rules and exercising and was able to maintain wt. loss until 2009 then discovered my band had eroded. I did not have any symptoms but it was discovered during upper endoscopy for GERD and my surgeon removed my band at that point. I became depressed slipped back into old habits and regained my weight. On 3/26 I had sleeve surgery and I am worried about little perceived restriction. So glad I have all of you to listen to and realize that this is common experience. Just going to follow the rules and hope for the best. -
Today is day 10 for me and I had my first soft-boiled egg. It was yummy! I was able to eat it without any problems chewing well. In fact I did not feel full which is worrisome. What were your experiences?

That's great news! I had my week follow-up doctors visit today. Down 19 pounds total, 10 since surgery. Anxious to start puréed food tomorrow and that egg sounds yummy! How did you prepare it? I'm feeling hungry today with just full liquids but hoping will feel more full with puréed foods. Anyone have ideas for meals on purée?

I had my surgery 3/26 so I am 1 week out! Still on full liquids until Saturday but doing great! No pain at all and sleeping all night. Getting bored with diet choices and still struggling to reach protein and fluids goals. I had a question about Pacific soups, especially the roasted red pepper bisque. Is it ok on full liquids or do you have to strain or blend it? Also how much protein does it have?

Ha! I have had a dream about donuts and last night one about Easter candy! I think I am withdrawing! Seriously no nightmares but I have heard that many people have that reaction to the pain meds. Today is day 5 post-op for me and I'm feeling good. Pain is almost non-existent at the surgical sites but I still have aching in my left shoulder due to gas. Today took a short walk outside to help that. I've had some ups and downs in moods though. Yesterday came the realization that my entire life, including work, family and friends, all revolve around food. Food has been the greatest joy in my life and I started feeling depressed because I had nothing to look forward to. Very sad to admit that! Today feeling more optimistic and looking forward to future. My highest weight was 227, day of surgery was 218, and today weight is 209.

i had my surgery on March 26 th and I agree that the nausea and vomiting on the first 2days were the worst. I am on day 4 now and feeling much better. The pain is minimal and I'm able to take in fluids much easier today. I'm allowed full liquids now which is a good change from all the jello and broth. I'm having some trouble with high blood pressure which almost kept me in the hospital an extra day but if it continues by Monday I will see my primary doctor.

Hi my surgery is also scheduled for Wednesday March 26. I am struggling a little with the pre- op diet but anxious for Wednesday to come and go.
