Just remember that when they discharge you and you go back to the hotel, TAKE YOUR PAIN MEDS even if u feel great!! DO NOT let the pain meds wear off bcuz u will be singing a different song tomorrow!!

Yay!!! After 11 days, I have FINALLY unclogged my pipes!! The Miralax mixed in prune juice was a success. Took about 2 1/2 hours. No cramps or nausea just weird tummy sounds. Neither Colace nor MoM worked for me. The miralax concoction is a winner!! I was starting to worry that I had obstructed bowels or whatever it called. Whew!! THANK YOU GOD!!!

Me too! This really, really sucks! Really..... really.....sucks.

I weigh myself every morning. After my surgery the pounds were falling off! It was so beautiful to see!! Now Ive been in a stall for the last week, I need to stop bcuz I feel discouraged just like I did when I was in my dieting life before surgery.

I only told my husband. I heard enough opinions & negativity from family and friends when I was jumping through hoops for my insurance company 7 months ago. Since I already knew how they felt, I did not feel the need to tell them anything about my surgery in Mexico. I did not want anyone to go with me. I went alone and prayed the whole time I was there. I THANK GOD that I did not have any complications, etc. On my way to the airport to return home, I giggled to myself because I am known as the crazy, wildcard, unpredictable friend/family member that will one day get a crazy idea in her head and the next day act on it. If they only knew...! Anyway, bottom line is, do what makes you comfortable. If they are going to cause stress for you, than please reconsider having them involved. It is all about you!! You do not need to be worrying about other people. One evening, I had a slight pain in my incision and was whining about it and my husband made a smart @$$ comment saying "uh uh, don't whine now, you did this to yourself!" If I couldve lifted my fat leg high enough to kick him in the mouth, I would've!!

My stall started about 2 1/2 weeks out. It made me nervous because prior to surgery, my body would always stall at day 7 of a protein diet. So it made me feel panicky like I used to feel with failed diets. Im going on about a week of no weight loss. I need to stay off of the scale.

The Metamucil clumped up like no other!! Geesh!! But I did contact my surgeon and he told me to take Miralax and stop the protein shakes until I have a BM.

I went to Wal-Mart during lunch and grabbed some Metamucil. I am going to try the metamucil and the MoM and see what happens.

LaylaJ, it may take some time. I am 3 weeks and still have NO ENERGY!! Everybody will have a different healing process so dont get discouraged. See if your doc can recommend something for the naseau. You will be fine!

My maltese doggie jumped on my stomach while I was laying on the sofa!! He usually does that to jump on the back of the sofa and look out the sliding glass door. Good gawd I hollered!! I actually dont think it hurt that bad but I screamed like it did!

Just Googled the Squatty Potty; I never heard of that before!! LOL!

Im going to try that because I really have not made any effort to try and go. I havent had any vegetables, zero fiber and the only thing I took was 2 tbsp of MoM. Hubby was about to grab a bottle of Magnesium Citrate but I told him to put that back becuz I wasnt sure if I could have that.

I took the recommended dosage of the MoM on Sunday but only once. I will contact my surgeon. Thanks guys!! Sincerely, Full of $#it!!

Commercials are your worst enemy, pre & post op!!

I brought wayyyyy too much. I only had a carry on but I still brought to many clothes, to many unneeded meds, I didn't use the heating pad I brought (although maybe I could've but I was too lazy to get it). I ended up throwing away my Spanish phrases index cards, I didn't need those. Just pack real light. I went alone and ended up having to lug around an 1000lb carry on bag!!!

I second the Magic Jack app!! My son broke his iphone and has been using his itouch ipod with the Magic Jack app as a phone. Works great!

Thanks for the input ladies. I have some liquid coconut oil and used that. The skin was so sensitive and weird feeling and itchy!! It feels alot better now. Thanks again.
