Well, shoot..you guys are throwing out some big numbers!! I lost 7lbs week 1. Then stalled for almost 3 weeks a few days later.

I dont have to have one on one conversations with anyone to try and change their mind on something I am doing with my life. So "the truth" you mentioned that my family told me was that 1. I was gonna die and 2. white people do stuff like that. Sounds a little negative to me. If you chose to hold a weight loss seminar for your family and/ or friends, more power to you. For me, it is not that serious, nor imperative to try and convince someone in order to gain their approval of a decision I have made especially when it comes to my health. Im just saying.

I needed propping. I bought a wedge but it was too high. I cant sleep on my side because it feels weird like my organs are dangling, and I am side sleeper. Now I just sleep propped up on pillows.

Im glad you asked because I want to know also. Im going on a girls trip next week to the carribean and I know for a fact the wine and spirits will abundant! Im not sure how I am going to handle it; I know I will definitely not be taking any shots, and wine makes me sleepy. We'll see how it goes...

You had your surgery one week before me, please do tell what you are eating to get 800-100 calories in?!? I'm stuck at 400.

I had an EMT put an IV in my wrist when I had my son (18yrs ago) and went through the vein and to this day, I still have a weird tingly irritated sensation when I rub across my wrist. I hope you get better and that it is just a small hiccup that goes away. Incisions: As for incisions, I got the single incision on Apr. 8 and it is still not 100% healed. It leaks a little. My drain incision is healed though and when they removed my drain they did not stitch it closed, they just left it open and covered it with guaze and tape, which freaked me out. So it took a little longer to heal too. How long before you were able to eat more than 200 calories? I just started eating 300-350 calories last week. It took me a long time. Im still having a hard time getting in my Protein. Its a process so try and just follow your post op directions and stay positive.

Mirilax in prune juice or apple juice works for me. I went 11 days after surgery with no bowel movement and was freaking out. Nothing was helping; Colace, MoM, Benefiber, nothing. I had MoM at my desk at work and was drinking it straight from the bottle NO LIE!!! I contacted my surgeon and she told to go get some Mirilax and to contact her as soon as I had a BM. The Mirilax worked in 35-40mins. Is still take it because I only go once a week without it. Not bashing our own race just keeping it real when it comes to dealing with our family, friends, etc.I have not told anyone that I had wls besides the husband but when I was trying to get approved by my insurance 8 months ago and my family/ friends knew about it, I was ridiculed, mocked, told I was gonna die, told that "only white people do stuff like that" and looked down upon. But my co-workers at the job, who are white, had nothing but encouraging things to say. I am not comparing race nor talking down on my people, Im just telling you my experience in regards to reactions and race. God forbid if they knew I went to Mexico and got it down. Ewww, Lawd!!

Thanks Pretty. Its just been leaking since May 3. And when I say leaking I mean like I will wake up with dry, cruddys in my bb. Not leaking down my belly or anything. We'll see what happens. Thanks again.

Sooooo...I got the Single-Incision, Umbilical Laparoscopic sleeve surgery instead of the traditional. My incision was closed and healed, etc but I think the fat around my belly button causes the skin to rub and has caused like a sore. It is not infected; no pus or anything just a clear liquid. its not alot but still. I went to the dr and she just said to clean it daily until it heals and to use peroxide. Anybody have any idea as to what this clear drainage is?

@@ChavaBling The Miralax didn't clump nor have a taste. I add it to Gatorade, Apple Juice, prune juice, etc. Now the Benefiber clumped! And it was like drinking liquid styrofoam. It's hard to explain. I will never take that again! Anyway, I took little sips of my cocktail it until I was full. It didn't take much. (of the Mirilax.)

Starting to get freaked out! I did try some milk of magnesia but it didnt work. Now, I have only been eating minimal Soup and just sipping on juice; would that be the reason?

@@par1959 Arent you the same member that made a snide comment on my thread in the Mexico forum? You have a way of throwing negativity into a situation that is really uncalled for.

When I take narcotic pain meds, this happens to me....everytime....no matter the procedure: sleeve, dental, etc. When I had 2 impacted wisdom teeth taken out, I was scared to go to sleep because of the night mares. Happens everytime. Never fails.

I'm in the same boat. I (used to) lose and gain weight, like 50lb loss/gain, all of the time! I have been MIA since I have been real heavy and no one has seen me so when they do see me, it will not be a surprise. So I can get away with not having to divulge my weight loss secret. Everyone knows that I am an avid Dr.Atkins dieter so they will automatically contribute it to that.

You are healing chica! Its a process and things will take time! I am a month out and have been stalled for the last 2.5 weeks. I was frustrated as heck but my body needs to find its own way. Patience is key...SERIOUSLY!!

I am trying but it is hard. It feels like everything I eat goes down real rough. My protein comes from shakes, but I did eat a nard boiled egg yesterday and did not have any problems. Im going to the store to get some salmon tomorrow.

Today is my 1 month surgerversary and I am averaging between 350-400 calories a day. Is this why I have been in a stall for the last 3 weeks?!?!

I am considering going to see a nutritionist or dietician since I am only getting around 350/400 calories a day. I need help with my diet and I am looking for someone who specializes in weight loss surgery. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thx

Only my husband knows and that's how it will stay. People are too judge mental and mouthy and I know that it is better this way.

When I first tried to get authorization from my insurance company back in November 2013 for surgery, I was at 35. And the surgeon I was going with told me to make sure I did not lose anymore weight. So I ended up gaining weight just to make sure I did not get denied but got denied anyway. I am tall and wear my weight well (if there is such a thing) and I also had a tummy tuck from years ago so my stomach is still flat.So of course some people frown upon wls as an option for me. But what people have to realize is that they do not know ones story and journey in life when it comes to obesity and weight management and dieting,etc. Yo-yo dieting is a contributing factor to enlarged organs. My sister died in 2008 of obesity and an enlarged heart.She was 28. Judge lest not ye be judged people!!
