    Stomach/Pouch stretching

Well if there's an easy way to stay on track, I sure don't know what it is. It just seems to me to be a mental place we need to be, of being convinced that staying on track is the only option.
  2. I'm in Northampton County. I had my surgery in June. Send me a message.

    Psych evaluation

Piece of cake. Nothing to worry about unless you have had serious mental health problems in the past that would impair your ability to follow directions or stay in touch with reality or have a suicide history--that sort of thing.

    Chia Seeds

I don't know when you can introduce chia seeds. I don't think I started eating them until I was about 2-3 months out.

    What scale do you reccomend?

The Tanita brand is consistently the highest rated by Consumer Reports. I have one and I like it.
  8. I'm trying to imagine the circumstances, as I read posts where people talk about stretching their sleeves. It seems to me that the act of over stuffing oneself would cause the stomach to reject the excess food. Does anyone have factual information on this?
  9. I have felt exactly how you are feeling. But here's the thing. I hit the six month mark and I have lost about half of what I expect to lose. What's wrong with that? I'm not one of those people who dropped 50 in a couple of months, but it's slowly happening. And yes, my synthroid had to be increased, and it did help. Good luck. Don't stress.

    First Hike

Bless your heart and good luck. So your surgery is a potential benefit to someone else.
  11. I was on spicy food from the get go. I couldn't stand to drink plain water and got sick of crystal light, so I made hot and sour soup my first week post op. It was fine. I asked my surgeon about eating spicy Indian food, and he reminded me that people in India also get WLS all the time. Enjoy!
  12. Thank you for sharing your story.
  13. I had my surgery June 25th, I lost pretty well in the beginning. Now it's VERY slow. Like, between Thanksgiving and Christmas I didn't lose anything! My surgeon was pretty surprised. Regardless, I feel 100% better, have more energy and motivation, and I keep telling myself that the slow loss is giving my skin time to "catch up" with the pounds lost--so less saggy, wrinkly skin. Really. And being honest with myself about times when I try to eat things I really shouldn't is critical.

    Really discouraged

What is it about the 40 lb mark and people noticing? I'm 6 months out and about 45 lbs down. My husband finally noticed about a week ago! I was noticing right away.

    Sleeved December 8th

I don't have much to say that will be helpful. Just "hang in there" and be patient. I hope the health problems are already better than when you first posted this.

    Anderson, SC

Hi there. What are the circumstances for your feeling of being alone? Do you have family or friends, or the surgical team? I found out, once I made the decision to have surgery, that there were quite a lot of people at my place of employment who had had surgery or were in the process of planning. I am an introvert and actually enjoy being alone and taking care of myself, but it still helps to have a support team.

    I'm sick help please

Any cough or cold medicine that does not contain ibuprofen or aspirin or naproxen. In other words, acetaminophen or else no pain killer at all.
  20. Make sure it has acetaminophen and not ibuprofen.

    Vegan protein!

Hummus? I ate a lot of that at first.
  24. I'm a little over 5 months out, and I feel completely different. The growlies are gone. So are the hiccups and the feeling that the sleeve is caving in on itself,. My appetite is also gone, but in a good way. I feel content almost all day without hunger. I never really cared about what I was eating, but I care even less at this point. food is just to meet my Protein requirements and to follow my surgeon's instructions. Now if I would start losing weight, that would be thrilling. I'm just wondering how long this feeling is going to last, It's great right now.
  25. Yes, I've been hungry a lot after surgery, and yes, my loss is slow. I'm not even at the weight (190) where my surgeon thought I would be by September.
