    Sports bra

I'm curious about what you like about the bras you recommended. This one I'm wearing is going in the trash. I stopped at the grocery store to pick up a few things and while I was walking down the aisle it started riding up and twisting around so that the girls were hanging out the bottom and side! Plus, it's way too warm.

    scale problems

I have a tanita that was under $50. I love it. If you read the reviews on amazon I'm sure they are uniformly positive. I would buy another one in a heartbeat.

You will make it. Hang in there.

    Anyone have extra protien?

I have a huge container of syntrax lemonade or something like that. I tried it based on recommendations and couldn't stand it.

    hunger

I'm 4 weeks post op. I have a good deal of hunger. I'm finding that more "solid" protein helps the most. A protein shake satisfies my hunger for about ten minutes. I'm hoping that as I reach the point where my food choices are less limited, this will be less of a problem. Right now I'm not willing to push what my sleeve can handle.

    My fitness pal

I did the same thing. Just started today. I think I am fezik23, same as here.
  7. Am four weeks post op. Most of the time I feel fine, sometimes even better than pre-surgery due to carrying less weight around. But maybe once a week(like tonight) I come home from work and more or less collapse fully dressed on top of the bedspread. I have to force myself to get up and put on my pjs so I can just sleep, sleep, sleep. I'm wondering if this is fairly typical, and if so, how long will I be dealing with it? I also get sleepy at work, though not every day, and have yawning spells to beat the band.
  8. Im surprised because I didn't mind them at all pre surgery. They are so sweet they taste nasty! I've already throw out two huge jars of Syntrax. The only one that I can manage at all is the Breakfast Essentials. I'm starting full liquids tomorrow. So does anyone have any times for cutting the sweetness factor? Also, I'm looking for ideas about managing to get 60 gr of protein/day without the shakes. I know this stuff has been covered before, but I can't find the threads. Thanks
  9. Would like to reward myself for milestones I hit along the way. Of course restaurants won't work. And clothing isn't a good idea since I don't know where I will end up. I already have piles of purses and books, and I can't afford to travel. I am a knitter but never wanted to knit for myself. So that is my plan- find a great sweater pattern and splurge on some beautiful yarn. Even though I just started this journey I'm gonna start looking at patterns soon. ( I'm not exactly a speed knitter.)

    Any Buddhists out there?

Well the slow eating sure helps me remember to be mindful. Very different from a normal Zen meal, where fast eating is encouraged.
  11. I am post op but have a long way to go
  12. I still have a lot of trouble eating slowly. I also had trouble for awhile with knowing when to stop.
  13. I slept with a body pillow for awhile. I'm about 3 weeks out and I'm fine to sleep in any position except full-on stomach. Also, it was just in the last day or two that I started feeling like my energy is back. Good luck!

    Any Buddhists out there?

    Nice!
  15. I am three weeks post op. I lost ten pre surgery and ten since surgery. I read other peoples' posts and they've lost much more or faster or something. I'm 5'1" and weigh 216. I am following all my post op instructions to the best of my ability. Have others had this fear? One concern is that I had my thyroid irradiated and I've been on synthroid ever since, but my dose has never been stable. I'm wondering if the thyroid issues would hold me back from losing. At work there was an employee who had bypass and lost a lot of weight very quickly. So everyone is comparing me to her-- not in a mean way. They're trying to be encouraging. But in my head I'm thinking, "what if I don't lose the weight like she did?"
  16. It's right here under gastric sleeve support groups.
  17. Poking around on this website I saw a forum specific to recovery. It's in the "general" section and then there are some specialty threads.

    Frustration

I feel the same frustration and fear. It's not so much this stall that's bothering me, but the thought that "what if I am one of the people who don't do well?" I am tracking everything I eat, following my doctor's food plan, but stuck for now. I hope things get better for you soon!

    Nutibullet or Ninja

I have the Ninja blender and I love it. However, the single serve lids can't be closed completely. When I want to take one with me, I put a piece of plastic wrap on top and then screw the lid on.

I dont know what "full" is

I feel the same way. With the protein drinks and the water, for one thing, I am not sure when I have a chance to get hungry. So I don't know if I feel full all the time? I know I have moments when I feel like one more sip, whether water or whatever, is just impossible. (I'm on full liquids.) I have a fear that I'm gonna stretch out my sleeve before I even make it to soft foods. I'm confused.
  21. I am going over and over this in my head. My surgeon has told me to expect to lose about 60-70% of my excess weight. I started at 238 lbs and I'm 5'1". The bmi tables put my "normal" weight at a max of 127 lbs. but if I use the surgeon's numbers I can only expect to get down to about 160 lbs. Is that percentage really accurate? Is it an average, taking into account those who just don't lose? I believe my goal weight should be no more than 140, as I'm 59 years old. Is it unrealistic? I realize everyone is different, but I'm interested in thoughts and feedback.

    Meeting daily fluid requirements

This is day five for me. I made a concerted effort yesterday and got all my clear liquids in, and it's 4 pm today and I have 8 oz to go. It helped to realize that I could have water with lemon instead of plain water or those nasty fake sugar drinks.
  23. I had my surgery about 36 hours ago. The surgeon ok'd me for discharge tonight. While I feel like a million bucks compared to yesterday, right now the best I can say is that I'm hanging in there. But oh so glad to be home. The bariatric team at Eason Hospital was great, thank goodness.
  24. Had my surgery on Wednesday the 25th and I've been home since Thursday evening. Since Friday I'm experiencing a temp mostly between 99.6-100.5. I know that's not really comsidered a fever but it's enough to make me feel chilled and pretty tired. I admit I have had trouble getting my Water in. Yesterday I managed about 40 oz plus some ice pops. I'm wondering if others have dealt with this, or if there's anything else I should be doing. I'm really not in pain, just sore, no real nausea, no vomiting. Am I expecting too much? I suppose if it's still an issue om Monday I will call the surgeon.

    ANY JUNE 25TH SURGERIES?

I had my surgery on the 25th as planned. Everything seems to be progressing normally. I left the hospital 9 lbs heavier due to all the I fluids, but it's coming off. Last night I slept through comfortably. I have been having headaches, though, and I think it's from the anti emetic. I didn't do very well with getting all my water in yesterday, either, but I will do better today.
