lizziee replied to OregonHolly's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Its almost here for you 1sters! Good Luck Good Luck Good Luck! Keep us posted. From what I've read and heard ............................. WALK SIP Water WALK SIP WATER -
LOL......I did the same thing! I'd tell you to relax but I know its easier said then done. I have a lot of hair but the idea of losing it doesn't really appeal. Best Advice. Keep in mind a lot of people post their horror stories and for the million post you read I'm sure there are 2 MILLION who didn't have hair loss. About the slippage....its something we have to accept may happen. It you follow your instructions to the letter you will be fine. Just stay on your liquids and soft foods as prescribed to allow your stomach to heal and get into a good position. It will be all good!!!!

Hi All! Somewhere on these boards is a really good checklist of things to consider purchasing prior to our surgery dates. If anyone can find it (I've searched) it would be a good reference b/c if your anything like me your minds are all over the place right about now! The one thing it had to buy was liquid Tylenol instead of trying to get down pills which I thought may come in handy. Also mentioned toliet tongs! Don't ask.....you do not want to know! :paranoid I will keep looking but if not I printed it out and its at work. I will post it tomorrow. 17 days to go.......

L&D I hear you! I think we all hear you. I just posted this same thing on another thread (I will learn to look before I post) and said I had a mini meltdown last week after my final pre-op appointment. I'm not sure if it was the long process finally being done or the reality that, OMG I'm finally done & now its surgery time! I really questioning if I am doing the right thing. I'm feeling like I'm cheating, maybe didn't try as hard as I could to lose the weight, or afraid of being judged b/c of having the surgery. This last is blowing my mind b/c I have never card what anyone one thought but now I do! I have all little friends and they are supportive but I'm not sure they really get it b/c the only time any of them have been big is when they were pregnant! I keep reading all these people planning their last meals and I can't even think about food I'm so nervous.

Hi All....I'm only checking to see if my ticker attached. I followed the other poster's instructions so I'm hoping this works. I keep reading all your post about last meals. I'm so nervous eating isn't an option at the moment. Now only if that was the case most other times I guess I wouldn't be on this page huh? Had a mini-melt down last week AFTER my pre-op. Did anyone else questioning themselves? I'm not questioning my decision to have the surgery but questioning myself. Did I try hard enough to lose this on my own? Am I cheating by having the surgery? Will others judge me and this one blows my mind b/c I have NEVER been one to care what others think of me and now suddenly I am?

All my hopes and dreams down the drain
lizziee replied to lovestoned's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm sure you've already worked things out but for future users. I went through it all trying to get approved via Cigna. I finished my required 6 month diet in February and just got the OK in August. Still waiting on Surgery date (had pre-op nutriontist visit 9/4) so I'm hoping any day now I will get my date. I did not know this but many companies have an Advocacy program that will help work with you and the insurance companies if you are having any problems. I found this out in June and with the help of the Adovcacy Rep from my company I was approved in August after being denied three times! She actually called to inform me before the doctor's even knew. Check with your HR Department or Employee Assistance to see if you have access to this additional support. Anyone needs help getting approved through Cigna let me know. I sent them a binder with 208 pages of any and all documentation that my doctors office wouldn't do!
