I won't be posting for awhile. Already missed the last 2 weeks. Broke my foot last week and can't even hobble onto the scale. Could be anywhere from 3 weeks to 6 months before I can put weight on it again. Still rooting for all of you, though!

Fibromyalgia and the sleeve.....
Brendymom replied to BrandyV2729's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My fibromyalgia has been much better since surgery. I did have a lot of trouble sleeping at first, but it got better after a couple months. I've even been cutting my Ambien in half. Still occasionally wake up in the middle of the night, but usually can't get back to sleep if I'm hungry, so keep protein shakes to have if needed. Otherwise have gone back to naproxen instead of stronger NSAIDS & off gabapentin & plaquinal. Only take other pain meds every other week or so. I also have RA & back problems. Feeling so much better. 4 months out. -

Will I be able to go out to a wedding five weeks after my surgery
Brendymom replied to Midemali's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I went to a wedding 4 weeks out. It was a buffet so I took some protein and a bite of veggies. Had a nibble of hubbies cake. I had a protein shake in my purse just in case I needed it. Bride was a very close co-worker. She knew about the surgery and we had talked about it before. It was kind of funny because I was worried about her paying for a meal I couldn't eat and she was worried about me not being able to eat anything. In the end we were both just happy I was there for her big day, the food didn't really matter. Avoided alcohol, btw. Still scared to try it. -
Congratulations! Keep us posted on how you're doing.

My husband wasn't on board at first, so I asked him to come to the seminar and Dr appointments with me. He also talked to our PCP who was very positive. By my surgery date he was in agreement that I will doing the right thing and has been a wonderful support since.

please mind your business

I agree with those that said this should be reported. I'd also tell my surgeon. They probably wouldn't be too happy that the lab is trying to scare away their patients. -

Saying something at work may be tricky. My employer has very strict rules, mentioning someone's appearance could be considered harassment. One co-worker told me I was looking good when I went back to work & I said he just made my day. then we laughed that if HR overheard us we could both get fired.

So happy to see I'm not the only one who's experienced this. Had a moment in the Wal-Mart checkout line. Was feeling judgemental that the person in front of me had chips, donuts , soda & other junk while I was getting fresh fruits and veggies for the party I was going to. Then realized that would have been me a few short months ago. Btw, the grilled veggies were very popular! Didn't really miss the junk.

Adderall XR, 20 mg. Take one in am & one at noon.

I take adderall. Dose hasn't changed and I haven't noticed a difference. Just saw my PCP last week and he didn't see any reason to change it at this time. Down about 60 lbs right now.
