Anyone else having to fight " mind hunger"
tfarr posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm never hungry, tell my brain that. The mind hi get takes over all the time. It makes me so depressed that I am losing the battle and give in half the time. Is that something veterans dealt with early out? And somehow won the war on? -
Insure Nutrition Metabolic Supplement
tfarr replied to CE24's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sorry, I was posting fast on my supper break at work lol I was getting the run around from them as far as what was approved and what wasn't approved. One week The Protein was covered , the next week the scar cream wasn't covered. Then the protein wasn't covered. The. It was all shipped on a Friday, I gave it a week. I called they said there was a mistake on the prescriptions. So I gave them another week. Then they said they were waiting for the scripts to be signed by my dr. A week later they called me saying that " I see you registered on the website inquiring about our protein supplements?" That's where I was like " your kidding me right? We've been going back and forth about shipping and prescriptions. I need to speak to a manager" It was nuts! I am a very patient person, but this was crazy -

tfarr replied to mercy96's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No way! Look at how active you are. I asked the same question to my surgeon. I too am very active and my job requires me to be on my feel 7.5 hrs a day. He told me if I am still losing, don't worry about the calories so long as they are healthy calories. Protein, veggies and fruits. Some in here will say " yes, to many" I say " no" -
Yes I totally am!! Pre-op and post -op!!

This is the first time. I googled it and it sounds awesome and super easy to make -
So after waiting and phone calls ( apparently, they were having issues with my insurance) they finally sent out my shakes. I got them last Friday. They also included a bottle of opti-source chewable bariatric vitamins for the issues I was having.

@justjamie5 I had my 3 month f/u today. I am in the same boat as you. I eat every two hours or so, I work out and I'm stRving all day lol Since my loss is going good,y surgeon told me as long as I'm getting the appropriate protein intake and am eating healthy calories shouldn't be of a concern. I was afraid I was eating to much. I'm down 63 lbs and I am at 70% of my expected weightloss so I'm doing something right lol

Calories intake 3 months out of Gastric Sleeve Surgery
tfarr replied to tfarr's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Lol I ate that once I saw my surgeon today, my Nutritionist and the physical therapist today. They are all amazed at my weightloss. I've lost 70% of My expected weightloss so far ( 63lbs) and am at the point of someone 6 mo post op. They told me not to worry about calories so much as appropriate foods. Protein first , veggies and fruits. He also suspects I have a faster metabolism. That's a first for me lol That made me feel more relaxed about my current situation. I do eat more than everyone else, but, it's working and I am still losing. I do need to work on slowing down and not drinking for 30 min prior to eating. All the comments have been very informative and I thank you for all your support -
Calories intake 3 months out of Gastric Sleeve Surgery

I am totally lost for food In tAke. I asked my NUT about how many calories I should have a day, she said around 700-800. I am getting over that. More like 1,200 most days. I am losing, but I am so frustrated and sad to think I am back at my old dieting ways. I am drinking premier protein shakes 2 a day, 1 quest bar for that right there is 480, I had 2 scrambled eggs and 1/2 eng. muffin -330. That right there is over 800. How much do you all get In a day? Is my NUT wrong? -
I ate 90% Lean hamburger and about two hours later, boom. I'm never eating that again!!

@@blondebomb My nut suggested I eat two scrambled eggs with a half of English muffin. I added a slice of cheese . That has been the only bread I have eaten since surgery. Heck, I wish it was an egg mc muffin lol -
@@HealthArtLove, It's hard to explain. I feel that, now that I am at the last phase of the new eating I'm trying foods out. Like, crackers, Peanut Butter, deli meat things that I shouldn't have an abundance of. My food of choice prior to surgery was peanut butter. Like, 2lb jars in two days. My go to food when I was on the verge of snapping emotionally. So, I tried it, and now I am always wanting it. I honestly feel like I've relapsed. I've been sober for 7 years so yes, I know what it feels like. I also drink a lot of Water. Almost guzzle it. I read people can barely eat anything at this point with out having some nausea and or vomiting. I'm depressed because I feel I have failed already failed myself. I do have support groups at the hospital where I was operated on, but they are scheduled when I am working (3-11)

That is the tiniest bikini top I have ever seen lol

I was sleeved dec 2 and am down 63 lbs. I was given the go ahead to eat and consistently now. Fruits and veggies! I am struggling Though. Nothing bothers my sleeve, not one dang thing! I wish something did. I eat apples with the skin. Sweet potatoes with skin. No pains or anything. It's good , but bad ya know? I ate peanut butter for the first time and wanted it to not agree with me, but it did I am really in a not so good spot right now, it's not even 3 months Depression, I'm sure of it

@@BLERDgirl I am still losing. I spoke to her and she is aware of my busy schedule. She said " protein first and 1200 is not uncommon at this point due to my busy schedule " But I have since cut back, a lot. I have been a cranky B, super anxious and miserable. It's only been a few days too lol I'm going back to my original plan, it seemed to be working. I can't make myself sick by cutting way back and worry if I am going to gain if I hit the 1,200 calorie mark. I seriously was getting depressed because I felt like I failed already -

I don't even worry about fluids. I drink a ton! I normally drink 32oz of water 3-4 times a day. I tried the English muffin for the first time today. I'm trying my best to slow down eating, I truly am. Maybe there's just to much fluid in my stomach all the time it just goes through faster, lol I think I'll call my NUT tomorrow -

The thing is, I go to the gym, do cardio and strength training. My job requires me to be on my feet 8 hrs a day and I'm awake from 5 am - 12:30 am. Up when the kiddos get up and back to bed when I get home from work. So I'm wondering of that was why. Because, 700 calories just isn't gonna cut it, I'd pass out lol It's bad enough sometimes I have to sit because I get dizzy. My other food are Oikios zero and a low fat cheese stick and 1/4 cup almonds my NUT suggested
