Just got sleeved on Monday how long does the pain last!
tfarr replied to purdy1408's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The only pain I had was getting up due to the larger port hole hat he pulled the stomach through. It was comparable to trying to stand up after my C-sections ouch! By day 6 ( for me) it was much better. Get rest when you can and try to walk you got this !! -
How many calories are you getting?
tfarr replied to Sara51692's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was told ( when I was 3 mo post op) no more than 700-800. I couldn't do that on a good day. Pre-op I was pretty busy, I have a job that requires me 7.5 hrs on feet, a 2 and 4 yr old to chase. After surgery ( December 2 2015) I'm was more busy, working out, playing harder with my kiddos and working like a maniac lol. I was losing at 3 months what 6 month post ops were ( so my surgeon tells me). I then went over what I was trying to stick to calorie wise and I told him it's not enough. I was eating closer to 1200. I was still losing! He told me as long as I was losing still and eating mindfully, it wasn't a problem and that my metabolism was fast. I nearly fell on the floor after hearing that lol But over all, we're all different. I'm almost 7 months out and have lost 84 lbs, I'm 13 lbs from goal. Work with your surgeon and nutritionist to see what's right for you -
I was told by my surgeon today I lost 80% of my predicted weightloss. That's exciting. But I am struggling. Emotional eating, stress, depression. It hasn't been a good two months.

Since I've had surgery, my breasts went from a 44D to a 38 small c And now I can't find a good bra! You'd think I'd would be easy. But, all the bras I try make me look like a saggy elderly woman I know a Breast lift is in my future, but not anytime soon. I'm 6 mo post op. What do you use for a good bra?
-
I'll have to try them, I've never been there to buy bras, only lotion What about bathing suits with no wire? I'm gonna hang like an orangoutang lol

I'm 6 months post op and I am having severe burning in my stomach. No reflux, and shoulder and gall bladder pain. I see my surgeon on the 6/4, but should I call just Incase?

What We Don't Want To Hear
tfarr replied to ProjectMe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
NobsVs, I agree with you 100%, except I fight a lot of head hunger -
I always thought it was strange that the doc would remove the gall bladder for precautionary reasons. I don't think I'd want that. But now that I'm having gall bladder pains, I sort of wish he did lol

Extended release anti-depressants
tfarr replied to CharmingTortoise's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was taking Effexor xr prior to surgery . My surgeon still says it maybe to early to return to the xr. So now I take the regular Effexor TID -
I actually started drinking coffee about two months ago. Decaf at first now regular. I'm almost 6 mo PO. It's never bothered my sleeve. But the caffeine does deplete your vitamins. No wonder I'm balding lol

I use the bariatric pal app on my phone, not usually on the PC. How do I delete some of forums I have participated in? There's tons of them I'd like to get rid of lol

@@Tamster01 Hi my surgical twin I am also december 2 lol My hair is totally thinning like you Say yours is. I have huge hair balls in the shower drain. It's worse than after having my babies. I looked over the 5 day pouch jump start. It makes sense and there is a lot of great recipes. I googled it, but I believe someone has a link to it on here. I too had a stall, about a month. I felt like giving up and that all my work and surgery was for nothing. I was super depressed and felt like a failure. But today I feel better and started dropping again.

I've been taking effexor for about 6 years. Hen added lamictal about a year ago. Since my surgery ( December 2) my moods are way out of whack at times. Like, for about two weeks at a time. Depression, mood cycling, forget about coming off. I'm glad I'm still on them lol Everyone is different though.

I'm almost 5 months out

Hello:) Sunday night I ate some popcorn. Now I have been nauseous off and on ever since. No temp or vomiting. I figured I'd try it. Nothing else sea to bother my sleeve, but apparently this does Has this happened to anyone?
-
Lmao!!! I love the first one

I would feel the same way. If I got a Response like that, especially th 3rd man I would be greatly insulted. Let my self get soo over weight. What a dink. He apparently knows nothing about a weight struggle except that he's trying g to make muscle vs losing fat. What are you gonna do? Have you talked to him about it?
-
Thank you so much It truly has been a tough time. It also seems I don't get a break from PMS anymore either. 3 good days and then wam! It's awful! It use to be 1 week before and I was a monster lol I'm gonna call my doc On Monday to see if I can get into see him.

I seem to have fallen into a depression. I am seeing a therapist and have been on effexor for a few years now And have been having no issues, until my 3 month mark. I've sort of given up, I eat like crap sweets , not any bread, but packaged junk. I thought it was emotional eating, but then realized I am depressed. I still get all my fluids no problem and protein. Can anyone relate? and does this post op depression lift at some point?
