Hunger pains. What the eff?!
tfarr replied to TheRevisionedVagabond's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wait, 6 weeks ( I should have read it) If you haven't eaten for a few hours, just eat. I am 2.5 years out. When I was 8mo this post op I lost 70 lbs. I was eating over 1,200 calories a day and kept losing. I lost another 20 lbs eating the same way. Eat right, protein first I. The first years, protein shakes what ever you use. Then, the dr told me eat veggies, beans first then protein. Because to much protein will cause constipation ( boy did I learn that the hard way). Try not to get to down on yourself. It's very easy to feel defeated in this for some at the beginning. But eat when you are physically hungry. Your body is telling you something. Go slow, you got this! Gastric Sleeve Help - Not restricting
tfarr replied to chai20's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sounds like my 100%. I never had the lap-band. But I am sleeved. 2.5 years out. But, I too ( since I was about 12-18 months post op) feel I don't get full when I eat. I know I eat to fast and don't chew enough. But, I just watched a video from a dr. that said after the brain stomach response regulated itself again we can eat more that's normal. I wish I could send it to you. Because I am sure I'm botching it up. Either way, what you and I are feeling is hard. I can eat peanut butter and carrots till the cow comes home. But, one hamburger and only the bottom bun I feel I could burst! Crazy. I also hear the stomach can not stretch. Who knows. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Hungry all the time?
tfarr replied to avatarkorraa's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can just speak for myself, but, I almost instantly had head hunger. I am 2.5 years out and this is something I deal with everyday. If I though about how many times I actually got physically hunger? It would be 2 or 3 times tops. But always, always and fighting head hunger. A lot of people don't, I am one of he unfortunate ones lol Maybe it's that? Or do you feel physical hunger? Wow! When you look at the actual break down it's bananas! I bought PB2, I actually love that more as far as flavor goes. But, I don't eat PB2 at all the same way as regular PB. I'm 2 years 3 months post-op and finding it really tough the past 6 or so months. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

2 yrs post op Gastric sleeve. New reflux's issue
tfarr posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi guys! Quick questions for sleeve vets. I never had any gastric reflux issues prior to surgery. 1 yr post op I had my gallbladder removed (That was 11/15) Now, for the past 8 or so months I get the worst reflux I have ever had. My surgeon says to take an OTC like Prilosec or Zantac. Well, that's not working so well. What's next? I can't live with this painful reflux that causes vomiting for the rest of my life. Have any of you experienced this? I won't have to have a bypass will I? Yikes! lol Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

I called my surgeons office shortly after I posted this. I have an appointment on the 14th. After all the hours that have passed since I wrote this post, my stomach is still unsettled. Very strange to me. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

Not for me it didn't. I went through a med change June 2016-September 2016..... let me tell you..... I instantly gained 10 lbs in less than a month. Came off of Effexor ER that I was on for 10 years to Prestiq 100..... not ok. Long story short we changed it to 50mg Prestiq 20-40mg Paxil ( depending on my cycle) And lamictal 200mg all daily. Now, I'm back to 160.5 pheeew! Lol Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

This is just what I needed to hear. Today is my 2 year post op. I've put on 4 lbs since my 18month post op visit and I honestly hate myself for it. I ate to many calories and didn't burn enough. I am afraid my surgeon will not be happy. I've stated the same weight for about 1.5 years now. I'd like to loose the last 20lbs, but, I feel I can't get there with my negativity lately Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

@@Babbs I have lost 7 lbs on the Intermittent fasting. I do it everyday. I'm beginning to think it's too much lol I should do it every other day right? It's not that bad. Except from 9am-noon I am a bear. But, I now listening to my body instead of my head. I actually only get hungry twice a day. My psych dr agreed with me that I had been taking Effexor for a long time and wanted to change to something different. I was on it for almost 10 years. I am now taking Pristiq, have been for the last 5 weeks. Now since then, my appetite is bananas, I'm sleepy all the time ( I yawn non stop at the gym), my joints ache. THe most common side effect is loss of appetite and weight loss. Well, not here lol I believe I'm having some paradoxical effects. I want off this STAT! Can anyone relate? What's your "weight loss pet peeve?"
tfarr replied to Elode's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I agree, sabotages and haters lol But, realistically, this is life right? We will all face eating bad sometimes and we give in. Lifestyle changes are what our mutual goal Is. What I feel is this. I've been post op almost 2 years now. I eat like crap at times, sometimes a lot. I know it's not good and can lead to weight gain. I'm human and become more mindful and eat " like a sleever " is suppose to. I was truly devastated one time when I was told on here I was eating To Many calories. I was losing fast and I needed them. I didn't know that at the time and my whole mindset was shot. So people who may eat lousy sometimes, it's life. We have our whole life ahead of us and as long as we know the repercussions of our actions .... It's ok. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
