I'm on a 5 phase food plan. I'm on 2 now ( well, today the put me back to phase 1) and Im a month out on Jan 2. It's good to take it slow and go with what your nutritionist says. Stick with fluids and protein. That's what I did. It's more important to get those in. He protein helps with healing. And the fluids... The more the better -
I just put in an order with them. They are #1!!

@@mpr You know, I will. I never thought it would be a big deal till people started telling me I shouldn't tell. I'm going to be honest. My job entails a lot of lifting and weight bearing. I may need help, so it pays to be honest. I'm a nurses aide in NH. I love my patients and I'm sure they will notice a difference. Gosh, I saw my Meme're two weeks ago and she asked how I was losing weight. I told her. Im not gonna lie to my grandmother! Lol -
My doc is pretty awesome. I had to do a 2 week pre-op diet, 24 liquid diet the day before surgery and liquids only for two weeks when I had my follow up. I'm on phase two of the diet and it's great. He was like your doc was minus the military act. The way I see it is, it's only going to help me. Your friends doc, yeah, I would think the same way. But elode said, there schooled different and personalities are all different.

I was told no NSAIDs forever. Due to the irritation and bleeding they can do to the stomach. But every Dr says different things. But this makes sense to me -
Hope were all having a great year!

@ proud Grammy Hi! Yes I've had my VSG surgery on Dec 2. I feel super! I'm still on phase 2 diet no biggie though, I'm not eating much as it is so pure is just fine lol Glad your having a great year!

Thanks ladies for the tips They all helped a lot. I saw my surgeon last week and didn't say anything g about lifting, but I am cleared to go back to work on January 2. I am super stoked about that.
-
I had surgery on Dec. 2. " nothing more that 10 lbs " as far as lifting goes. I was doing great with that till Monday. That's when my help stopped with my 2 and 3 year old. I have been picking my 2 year old daughter up who is 30 lbs, only when its unavoidable. My two week follow up is tomorrow and my surgeon is gonna kill me. I just carried my daughter inside from the car, she fell asleep. It's hard to hold tight to my restrictions in times like that. I'm aware of the damage it can cause and the reasons why the restrictions are the way they are. But, Ug what am I gonna do?

How far are you out? Have you spoken to your surgeon about this?

It doesn't really hurt, but I do feel discomfort at my incision sites. Since I started holding my children, I haven't moved my bowels either. Coincidence? I've been going everyday up till then
