DFW TX Surgeon selection? (Dallas / Ft. Worth)
itsmekarenlee replied to Better than dead's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I knew this is an old thread but maybe a newbie will read this....... My advise would be to go to the orientations of many drs if you can. Not just with one and TRUST YOUR GUT. I really wish I would have. -
Bariatric Advantage calcium citrate dosage question
itsmekarenlee posted a topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Our dr's instructions were to take one in the afternoon and one in the evening at least two hours after taking our multivitamin with iron. I keep forgetting to take the afternoon one. Why can't we take the 1000mg at one time (two chews), anyone know? -
I wish our dr wouldn't wait so long to do bw. 6 mos just seems too long......... I'm going to ask my family Dr to do bw on thyroid and hormones and whatever else he wants to do, hopefully b vits and D at least.

itsmekarenlee replied to itsmekarenlee's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I know. I hate it. my choices are so limited compared to others. I can't have anything that Heather listed. I'm really curious how each diet's statistics are as far as weight gain back or not goes... -
All the Protein drinks I have are too sweet. Are there any that aren't or is there something I can do? The thickness is starting to get to me too except for the nectar juices but those are getting old. They all are honestly but I need to keep drinking them ::barf::. Has anyone tried the grape Nectar flavor?

changing bariatric dr after surgery?
itsmekarenlee replied to itsmekarenlee's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Not because of insurance but because I felt invisible to him and he's made me feel like I'm a bother with my questions. I've posted my experience on other threads and I won't repeat it here but I told my family Dr I didn't want to see our bariatric dr again and he called our bariatric dr and told him so he could get blood work orders. At my husband's appt today he said he heard I was mad at him and didn't want to see him again and asked why. So I told him the main reasons (not all though) and he apologized. I will give him another chance. We see him in two months for our three month follow up. Am just disappointed with my whole experience, though I'm sure he did a great job with the surgery. I just hope he's more receptive to me. That's all I ask. I don't want to feel like a number and a $57,000 paycheck to him.
