Dr said it was between his intestines and kidney, or pancreas. That's all we know. He said it wasn't dangerous and not like the kind that go to the heart, lungs or brain. I don't trust him though so I don't know if that's even correct. I believe every clot has a risk of that happening. But I might be wrong. He gets his INR checked every two weeks. Taking Coumadin every day, alternating between two dosage amounts. Has to do this for 3 months and then they better do another ct scan. The Coumadin makes him feel blah I just want him to feel better. He regrets doing this surgery right now . Our surgeries were on 7/18

My husband's sleeve was don't the same day, out on Sunday as well. A week and a half later readmitted for pancreatitis and blood clot (can happen to 1:1000 of bariatric patients) for 5 days. Is been the weeks since that and his pancreas is still messed up. :/

Surgery Friday, discharged Sunday, no complications except most pain meds don't work on me and dr refused to give me the one pain med that does so I can't say I was at all pain free at the hospital or at home. Jerk Dr. >:{

So I ended up getting a small sf caramel skinny something. Gross. Artificial flavor is just plain gross. Oh well. I tried. Lol Thanks for the suggestions! :-)

Thanks everyone! :-) They have the fake sugar there, right? Or should I bring my own?

That's why I'm getting decaf. I don't want caffeine. And I don't want Water. That's all I've been drinking and I want something different this one time. Erp, is the skinny cinnamon dolce steamer decaf or can I ask for it to be decaf?

So you have the same doctor as us?????? Sounds like it. Don't get me started. Again. (I've posted about it before). Somefof them get the God Complex. Put your foot down and tell them how it is. After all, you are NOT just a number and a paycheck (but that's how they see us). So, is the pancreatitis gone? We just found out today, from last Wednesday's blood work, that my husband's pancreatitis is showing up again. Wth?? He was discharged after tons of iv antibiotics fir it three weeks ago. Now it's coming back??? And they want to retest it in TWO WEEkS??? Um, no. And if course Dr our NURSE didn't call him back to talk more about it. We want antibiotics NOW and hopefully in pill firm instead of iv because he's already missed a lot of work and well, stating in the hospital just plain sucks and they don't let you sleep. Gah, I hope your stupid drs get it together and have fixed the problem. Ever thoughtt about going to someone else? -
JULY 2014 Post Op Rny / Bypass Support Group

Thanks for asking :-) he's doing better. We are wondering if the Coumadin is making him feel tired and nauseous sometimes. He's got two more months left of it. He's already tired of taking it. He's lost 50 lbs and I 33. -

Made it to Onederland!!!!! Finally, after a week and a half- two week stall. It's true, during my stall I didn't lose weight but I lost inches. Had to buy pants (down two sizes, almost three!) And those are too big now. Now it's back to losing a pound every couple of days. I wonder when the next stall is.......... :-) -

sick of our limited options with puree :( I need suggestions please?
itsmekarenlee posted a topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
We can have Beans (not refried), turkey, light tofu, chicken, crab, lobster, shrimp, and fish ONLY for our Proteins. We can have carrots, green beans, summer squash, peeled, zucchini, peeled, broccoli, and cauliflower ONLY. No raw. We can add herbs and spices except with added sugar, lemon/lime juice, worcestershire sauce, sit sauce or vinegar, light mayo, tomato sauce or plain fat free greek yogurt, ff broth or boullion. NO juices, ice cream, sorbet, pudding, Soups, cheese, mashed potatoes, crackers/chips, breads, rices, pastas, or tortillas. Obviously all need to be mushed/pureed. I'm sick of eating pureed can of tuna with light mayo, or can of smoked chicken, or fake lobster, pureed beans. Does anyone have ANY suggestions?? We have to eat this junk until the 25th. -
fellow bariatric surgery friends and their opinions
itsmekarenlee posted a topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I'm finding it annoying that some of my friends who have had bariatric surgery TELL me what foods I can't and can eat. Just because they can't tolerate it doesn't mean I won't be able to. Or that I can eat this or that even though it's not on our drs approved foods list at this stage. Annoying. I know they are just trying to be suggestive and help but there's a better way to deliver it than being an authoritative know it all. -
For as little as we eat how do we not get charged for a full buffet? They can be expensive.

Thank you, and I 100% agree.

DFW TX Surgeon selection? (Dallas / Ft. Worth)
itsmekarenlee replied to Better than dead's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
No, last time we went was before surgery and no one from the office showed up. There were two other patients there waiting too, so four of us, three of us were pre op. I think there's supposed to be a meeting on Tuesday night? Or is that the pouch class? Honestly, I haven't been impressed with much of anything with that office/dr. I wish I could change. -

How about your jewelry (rings) after surgery?
itsmekarenlee replied to pik's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Beautiful ring Pik!!! Mr wedding rings are falling off too now. I think I'm just going to get silver yarn and wrap it around the ring for now until I find something else to use. I don't know how I'm going to tie it though....... hmmmmm lol -
Mondaylady, that's good that you ask because their receipts stink and don't tell you what you paid for. I advise writing on each receipt what the visit was for. I'm sure they charged my insurance for my post op visit with our dr yet he couldn't be bothered to come in and talk to me. The nutritionist went back and forth to him asking him the couple of questions I had for him. I was not happy with him. Again. He never examined me before surgery, right after surgery, nor at post op. Never even told me how my surgery went and refused to give me the only pain med that works on me and made me suffer and made me feel like I was a bother to him. My family Dr called him to get blood work orders and told him I said I didn't want to see him again. At my husband's follow up appt from his pancreatitis and blood clot from surgery (can happen to 1:1000 of bariatric patients, not drs fault!) he asked me why and I told him these things. He apologized. I will give him another chance, though he doesn't know the other reasons. This is why I say to trust your gut. I didn't have s good feeling about him at orientation mtg but husband did so we stayed with him rather than checking other surgeons out. There was another situation where I feel he should have told us to take him to the ER when I called him with concern about my husband's condition but he just said for him to drink more. I should have trusted my gut then and took him to the ER anyway because he had that clot and pancreatitis. It was 4 days later at post op appt that he suffered before Dr told me to take him from his office to the ER. Jerk. I don't care for the office staff much either. So Mondaylady, I just told you what I didn't want to tell you because he may be perfectly fine with you, I don't know. But please keep this between us and please don't let him know you know anything about this. We still have to see him.

I'm really getting tired of the air bubbles and birps, or feeling like I need to but can't, just from drinking. I'm taking small sips, not gulping, and air still gets down. I've tried straws, no straws, didn't matter. It's annoying and frustrating. Any suggestions? (Almost 5wks post op)
-
I didn't used to have this problem earlier on. We were told not to use straws either but I needed to try and see if it helped. I've just had a rough couple of days with foods too that I didn't have a problem with before so I'm going back to liquids for a day or twoto get my esophagus swelling down since I've had to get the stuck foods up. I'm learning what's ok too eat and what's not.

Our deductible starts over next year and if every visit will cost us two to three hundred dollars EACH (for my husband as well) then I'm not going back.

How can we get an itemized report for each and every little thing that was paid for, do you know?
