Same here!!!! I was a size 22 preop 4 months ago and I needed new jeans. Tried on 16's, too big. Tried on 14's, too big. NO WAY! Can't be?! Tried on 12's SKINNY jeans and they fit!!! Actually, I have to wear a belt with them because the waist is a little big but the legs are fine. I can't even remember when I was a size 12!! So weird. Lol After my twins were bitten 11 yrs ago I went from 226 to 175 in a matter of days but I wasn't in a size 12 from what I can remember. At most a 16. So congrats!!! This is exciting!!!

annoting personal questions people ask.
itsmekarenlee posted a topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Questions you do NOT ask people who have had bariatric surgery (or frankly, anyone): #1) are you supposed to eat that? 2) are you eating too much? 3) is that all you're going to eat? 4) Any good buffets we can go to around here? And I wish they'd stop asking how we're eating and how much weight we've lost every time they call. I wish they'd just mind their own business. I will volunteer this info if/when I feel like bringing it up but I have a life and its not centered around what I eat. Sorry for the vent. One set of my in laws (the ones I can't stand) are visiting and these are some questions they've asked. #1 question really irks me. How do YOU respond to questions like these? How do I make them stop asking? I know they are just curious but I don't ask them what they've eaten that day or ask them how much they've eaten our make comments about how much or what they are eating or if he's eating heathy with his health issues...... you know? -
ow :( my joints hurt
itsmekarenlee replied to itsmekarenlee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ya, that doesn't work on me either neither does morphine or diluadid. :/ -
So this exercise thing we have to do is painful both of my knees hurt from it and then some of my other joints are hurting too. Chronicly. I just feel like complaining. Sorry. I just started taking glucosamine chondroitin yesterday even though my stupid bariatric dr said it hasn't been proven to work yet my FP said to go ahead and try and that it could help and many other people have told me it helps them. But I'm not going back to my bariatric dr anymore more for numerous reasons and neglect so screw him. And tylenol doesn't work on me. I don't know what to do. I want to stop exercising so my knees don't hurt anymore. It's funny how you really take your knees for granted until they hurt with everything you do. Are herbal anti-inflammatories ok to take or no different than ibuprofen?

Mine is not sure to a lack of protein. I know that for sure. In fact, my bw protein level was good. It's from the rapid weight loss+anesthesia, or just the anesthesia. -

I only walk on the treadmill for half a mile to a mile and then, abs, arms and I have to hold off on legs because I hurt my left knee tendon pushing too much 4 wks ago. Now right knee is hurting and all I did new was ride a stationary bike a mile and a half. I go to the gym every morning except weekends fir about half an hour. I thought about swimming and willi look into it but I'd have to drive about 25 minutes to get there and back plus, I know this sounds dumb but I hate getting wet in my bathing suit and having to peel it off and that wet body feeling. It just feels so gross afterwards that I try to avoid it. Stupid, I know. But I should really look into it so that I'm doing some exercise if I quit going to the gym. -

My only regret is going with the bariatric Dr we chose.

My bariatric Dr told me today if food gets stuck and it gets thrown up then we're not to eat any more until the next meal. This is after he asked me if food gets stuck and I told him about 2x a week, if that, ON MY FIRST BITE but ONLY because it's too big of a bite and if I eat my bites too fast. The pain is so intense in waves that I can't take it anymore and make myself bring that piece up and then I can continue to eat the rest of my meal. Ok, so, with only eating 3 meals per day, no Snacks, no supplimental Protein drinks allowed (though I do anyway. Screw him), I eat my first bite of food, it gets stuck, I suffer in intense pain until it passes (a while), still hungry but not allowed to eat after it passes so then I'm only getting 2 meals in for that day. I'm pretty sure that doesn't give me enough protein and nutrients for that day. OR I simply bring that one piece back up from my first bite then continue to eat my meal, pain free, stuck free and getting in all my nutrients. No, I'm not bulemic, never will be. Barfing is gross. I just want that stuck piece of food that's causing so much pain to get out so that I can eat the rest of my food. And why is it usually only the first bite??? And I'll refrain from the rest of the long rant I have about my Dr. I'm done with him and his office staff. Not going back. I've had it. For many other reasons. (btw, my family dr ran all blood work/vitamins and everything is perfect! Bariatric Dr doesn't run those tests until 6 months post op (I'm 3). )

Does YOUR Dr say this too?
itsmekarenlee replied to itsmekarenlee's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I'm losing my hair in clumps anyway but not because of Protein. It's just because of anesthesia and losing so fat probably. He didn't even tell us that we looked good and our weight loss is right on track The nurse made me feel bad too. This visit sucked. Actually ALL of my visits sucked. Glad I'm done there. I don't need that. -
Great job Jeanie! Thank you Ruby :-)

can I brag for a minute and post our first pictures of us 2 months post op? Quite proud if I might say He's lost about 60 or so and I'm down 48.

Can't tell if I am hungry or full or what!
itsmekarenlee replied to pik's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That stinks. I've been thinking about starting glucosamine chondroitin (Kirklands brand?) to see if that helps. My mom says she notices a difference if she stops. But I want to get OFF pills, not add them! lol We have to go to our stupid bariatric Dr next week for our 3 month follow up. I really don't want to go. I don't care to see him or his loser office staff and the Nut is super sweet but I learn more info on here and elsewhere than from her. Besides, it's all in the binder we each had to pay $10 for with the same info in it pretty much even though we live in the same house because I guess our $250/visit EACH (prior to ded being met that will start all over again in Jan) apparently wasn't enough money for them. The billing has been a nightmare and we are pretty sure they stole some of our money or charged/coded something that didn't happen. Too much investigating to do we just said forget it. This will be our last visit with them since the new year brings new deductibles and I'm not wasting our money going there anymore, even though we signed some stupid "life-long" contract/commitment with them. Ya, whatever. Thanks for the surgery, you got your paychecks and two more patient numbers, now piss off. Our family Dr can do everything. Besides, he's nice and actually cares about us. btw, our bariatric Dr apologized to me after he found out that I said I didn't want to see him anymore (from our family Dr). He asked why and of course my mind went blank but I managed to tell him a few reasons out of the many. Well, a little too late mister. Plus, I hold grudges, especially when you neglect me of the only pain medicine that I told you worked on me and made me suffer through this surgery. ya, Thanks. sheesh, I wonder if I'll ever get over this -

Can't tell if I am hungry or full or what!
itsmekarenlee replied to pik's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I feel hungry but try to figure out what I want to eat and it's just too much trouble. After I come home from work out in the mornings I need to eat but often don't feel like COOKING anything. Seems like everything needs to be COOKED. I don't want to COOK! I just want some Cereal or something. Don't know what cereal we can have because our Nut says no cereal. I'm tired of eggs. Can't eat breads. Sick of yogurt. So I usually just drink a Premiere and get it over with even though our Nut says no more Protein drinks. Well, screw her. Eating is overrated. So is drinking. Today I forgot to eat again. Saw it was after 2pm. Oh snap! Ate a couple pieces of turkey jerkey. Meh, that's good enough. ::sigh:: now it's dinner time. Made a roast but it tastes gross. Not eating it. Sick of chicken, plus it gets stuck and then I have to make myself throw up so I can eat the rest of my dinner. Maybe I'll just drink another Premiere. Actually, I forgot to drink any today. Any liquids. oops. I haven't been very good with the liquids AT ALL. Gross. And they make you have to pee all the time. So annoying. But, I have to get back on track and eat regularly and drink. Does beer count? I really want a beer. I'm not much of a beer drinker but been craving it. Tried SF Root Beer. So gross. Anything SF tastes gross to me. Tried a half of non-sf root beer sno cone. SO divine! Felt sick after. No more non-sf sno cones for me. booooooo (but it's a good thing ) Tried sushi a few weeks ago. Was. Not. Good. Well, I mean it tasted super good but didn't feel so good in my tummy. Not sure if it was because I ate too many or because of the rice. I'm scared to try it again. Just ate an apple with Peanut Butter. 2nd try. Still not good in my tummy. gurgle gurgle wanna hurl. Pik, sure glad to hear you are doing better Have you been able to get off any of your meds since surgery? I'm off of my cholesterol med, half of my bp med, no more heart burn med and since stupid "top in the state" bariatric Dr doesn't do blood work on his patients until 6 months after surgery I got our family Dr to run the whole vitamin/mineral, thyroid, hormones, and whatever else panel the other day. Need to see how those B's and D and thyroid are doing. He's also running an arthritis panel because my joints hurt. They hurt worse when I drink SF liquids which I don't do anymore. oh Pik, I also had a 3 wk stall. UGH. My family dr asked how I broke it. Told him I pood. LOL! (sorry, TMI but true!) Seriously! That only happens once a week so he said I can take Colace or the like every day and eat Fiber. Isn't there a fiber pill or something? ugh LOL -

Does the Vit D help with joint pain? And my hair just started coming out in clumps in the shower and when I comb/pik it. It's depressing. I thought it wasn't going to and I got lucky but nope. -
I've been stuck, both on weight and #2. Weight for three weeks and #2 for a week. I drank Smooth Move tea last night and this morning, after #2 decided to evacuate, I lost 4 lbs. Whew! What a relief, in both ways! (Although it was most inconvenient and interrupted my treadmill time with my friend. :/ ) My stomach/intestines were grumbly for a few hours and I didn't feel so great but hey, it worked!

I don't want to read this! Can't they just put a mesh or tube or something there so it stops constricting? And change doctors.
