8 weeks and 40 pounds

5/13/14 down 42 lbs. People are starting to notice the weight lose now. I was hoping I would have lost more by now. I want to be down 50 lbs by the 3rd month. I know everyone loses differently. I can't say I do everything perfect. But I try to stay away from carbs and sugar as much as possible. I still drink my Protein shakes and I log in to myfitnesspal to track what I eat. I've gone from a 20 size pants to a 16. My legs, face and neck are showing the weight lose the fastest. Just wish my tummy would trim down faster. I get so bored eating the same thing all the time. I don't have many problems with food. I can't eat bread that's the only thing that bothers my belly. I exercise with workout videos 3 times a week. Good luck everyone. Slowly but surely we will be at our goal!

8 weeks and 40 pounds

I try and try to eat all day to get my protein intake. I can never reeach 80 grams of protein. I drink a lot of water but don't reach 64 oz a day. I eat very very small portions. I can't take the multi vitamin it makes me vomit or just nauseated. I feel good just feel like I'm failing on the protein and don't know how to fix it.

Any May 2014 Sleevers

Hey butterfly! Is it ok if I friend you? You're the first May 12th sleever I see besides me so far! You're lucky you have no drain, I think it's made this recovery a bit harder for sure. And the gas? I still have it, mostly because I can't go walking around with this drain, it's too painful! How are you getting your liquids in? Any tips? I just feel so full all the time! I was sleeved may 13th. No drain. Minimal incision pain. But having a hard time swallowing still. I don't get but maybe 30 grams of Protein in daily, if that. It's tough when it takes all day to drink a 10oz Protein shake.
5. Still having difficulty swallowing anything. Even the tiniest sip feels like I'm swallowing a horse pill. 9 days post op... When will this stop??!!!
6. You will go through pain for 2 days. Then what feels like hunger for a few days. I'm 8 days post op and finally feel somewhat better.
7. I Was feeling okay since surgery. But day 5 I started feeling horrible. Not only was I starving. My acid reflux is terrible. Day 6 I started my nexium as per docs orders. I'm having such a hard time with liquids. I feel like I have a huge pill stuck in my throat and the middle of my chest. When I breath heavy my stomach has a slight pain like its full. It's the strangest thing!! I go to my post op appointment tomorrow. Anyone else had similar issues?
8. I feel the same way!!! Only good thing is I'm not throwing up. Just feel like I have something blocking what's going down!! I tried Gas X and that didn't help a lick. I just want to eat and feel ok
9. Sorry to hear about your issues. I got sleeved on May 9th but am not allowed any pills yet. My doctor prescribed a Prevacid capsule that I break and eat medicine out of. That has helped me. Good luck with your appointment tomorrow! Hope all is well. I open my Nexium capsule also but it hasn't helped. If this pain in the middle of my chest would go away I think id feel 100 times better
10. Tomorrow makes a week post op for me. I'm still hungry. I wish I could start puréed food. That's the hardest part for me so far and I'm barely getting protein in. Idk what to do. I see my dr on Wednesday so I assume he will help me
11. Had my VSG on Tuesday in on Clear liquids till next Tuesday but I'm literally starving!! Help!! Any suggestions?
12. Okay so I know I'm not suppose to weight myself daily buttttt I just can't help it. Since surgery on Tuesday 4 days post op. I'm down 12.4 lbs ????????

I'm starving

I stepped on the scale today when I got home and I'm already down 8 lbs since Tuesday. Previously I took nexium but he didn't tell me to take any meds and I have to start my vitamins next week. The reflux is horrible. I feel like I need something thicker like a protein shake. I don't know if that's safe being I'm only 2 days out.... At this point in regretting doing the surgery my tummy is burning so bad. I know it will get better, but the process is killing me. Best part is I wasn't even a big food eater prior to the surgery. Everyone says head hunger but this is my stomach burning and growling....

I'm starving

I know I can't eat, it's just making me miserable. I keep drinking, eating sugar free Italian ice and Popsicles. Nothing takes the burning sensations in my tummy away.
18. 48 hrs post op and I'm on my way home. All I can keep down is liquid. I feel weak and I'm hungry ughh how do I fix the hunger ??!!
19. I had my surgery this morning. They said I have to Pee by 7pm. I have the urge to but just can't."? Anyone else have this problem ??
20. I haven't been hungry but all of a sudden my stomach is growling. Popsicles and water is not helping the hunger pains. Ughhh
21. I had my VSG done today and I feel like I could sleep thru the night if I was positioned correctly. I can't sleep upright on my back. Does anyone have a suggestion for me?
22. First night post op sucked! I couldn't sleep at all. The pain medicine made me vomit. I am so weak. And shaky. The pain is more soreness then anything. How many days did it take y'all to feel better ?
23. My surgery went well today. Although I'm still very groggy. I feel like I've done 1000 crunches. The pain is there but not unbearable. I still havent pee'd yet, I feel the urge to pee but just can't. Doc said that's normal. Twisting and turning is hard but I find laying on my back with a slightly elevated head and feet is working well!! Off to dreamland I go again!!
24. Tomorrow is the big day! 6am!! Thankfully my dr only makes you do a 24 preop diet of clear liquids.... Soup get boring! Not being able to chew actual food is hard. And the magnesium citrate is for the birds! But it will all pay off in the long run!! Eeeekk I'm excited!! Finger crossed!
25. I never comprehended how we are suppose to get protein in when it's a clear liquid diet for 7 days(for me anyways)
