So today is my 6th day of the ketotic/liver shrinking diet. Hate it! It's gotta be working though cuz I wanna throw people through windows for sneezing too loud and drench my body in Vick's Vapo-Rub to calm down the squirmy feeling. Headaches...those are awesome too. So I'm thinking it's having some effect on me. I've been working on my plot to get in a last hurrah without cheating on the diet. I'm thinking a homemade slice of pizza with a mocha mint smoothie. Gotta search for some recipes. Surgery in 6 days.

Thanks Pepper, I have to knock down the carbs quite a bit to have a slice of pizza. My smoothie will probably be mostly ice with a little mocha mint flavor. Gotta be creative!! -

I had to lose some weight on my own before being cleared by dietary. This diet is to shrink my liver before surgery. I've noticed that the diets vary by surgeon and hospital. I've seen some that are stricter than what I'm doing. I would imagine that it varies by patient also. Good luck on your surgery & your journey!! -
March 2014 Surgery!

I'm having the gastric bypass on March 26th. It's getting close. I haven't decided if I'm nervous or not. I think I'm more nervous about the years that follow than I am about the surgery itself. -
I'm on day 5 of the ketosis diet. Still having the headaches here and there but not quite as much hunger and grumpiness as in the beginning. I get 35-40g of carbs and 105 Protein. It's definitely a challenge of will.
