hey guys! I saw this made for tv commercial about a tool that slices zucchini, etc do that the veggies look like noodles. For the life of me, I can not remember the name. Does anyone know the name of this product or know of a similar type of product? It produced curly "noodles" out of the veggies.

I wouldn't recommend anyone go against their doctor's recommendations, but I will tell you what works for me. My doc says no drinking 30 min before and after meals. I read somewhere on this site that they drink right up until they eat, but wait 30 min after eating, and that has worked for me. Water goes through the sleeve very quickly; as my doc says, the sleeve is more like a funnel than a storage pouch at this point. I drink up until a few minutes before I eat, and I wait at least 30 minutes after, which is easy because my sleeve is so full after 1/3 C food I don't WANT to put anything else in it for awhile. I stay full for about 4 hours after eating, and this is what my doc wants, so this works for me as it's always a struggle for me to get my water in. I, too, was told I can drink right up until I start eating. Then, I have to wait. All docs have their own methods.

Hey guys. I was sleeve 4-21-14 by Dr. Duperier at Foundation Hospital. All is well except that I have been stalled since I started regular food. Bleh. (Dr. D is dr. Segers partner!)

Just thought i would check in to see how everyone is doing. It's June and I'm STILL at 33 lbs gone. I know, I know. I shouldn't complain because that's better than being where I was but, sometimes, the scale is wicked!! I'm pretty sure that I'm not eating enough or getting all my proteins in but it's so hard! I can't drink the protein shakes. They make me sick right away. I can't eat chicken. It makes me sick right away. Sigh. I'm okay to eat red meat and I haven't had a problem with that it just gets old. Oh, well. I'm surprised that I am LOVING cottage cheese. I never had it prior to surgery and, now, I have it for breakfast almost daily. I hope everyone is doing great and loving their sleeves! Talk to you soon oh! If anyone is on Instagram, I'm angelique1446 Look me up- we have a great vsg family there.

How has your view of others changed since surgery?

7 weeks post op - success and struggles
redlove1446 replied to Jaime_Boston's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm starting my 4th week out and was given the ok to do eggs and soft, chewed meats. I had a couple bites of a scrambled egg and a couple bites of chorizo and I have felt awful all day. Not my stomach but like reflux or acid or something. I feel like there's a ball of air at the bottom of my throat and it's awful. I haven't had nausea or heartburn since my surgery and it feels so weird/different now. I took a Pepcid but the bubble remains. I never had reflux or heartburn before the surgery either. I would get it on occasion but those occasions were few and far between. Sigh. Guess I need to start taking the pills daily. -

Question about carbs
redlove1446 replied to racheld11's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think it depends on your tummy tolerance. I've noticed many people avoid the carbs because it takes up too much room in the new tummy. I've also seen people eating burgers and sandwiches and, yes, pasta. Of course, the servings are teeny -
Wow! Those look great! Exactly what I was looking for. Plus, your meals look totally yummy! Thanks for the info. Is yours called a Spiralizer?
-
That's what I think it was. Yes. I didn't want to spend a ton of money especially if it didn't work. Lol Hmm I will have to check amazon Oooh! Yes!! Tell me. If that one works well, I may go that route instead.
-
I haven't tried it, yet, but I've found a ton of recipes with smashed cauliflower. Haven't gotten to that stage, yet. Mmmm
-
I agree but, when I tried a bite of mashed potato the other day and it expanded in my tummy, I figured maybe I need to check out other options. My love of pasta is great but my new tummy thinks I should wait a long while to try it.
-
Thanks guys! I have seen the spaghetti squash and aim to try that, as well. I really liked the idea of the curly Zoodles, too! Or, maybe I just think it's cute... Lol Trading a food addiction for a healthy cooking appliances addiction maybe?
-
HAHAHAHAHA OMG this is so perfect. The past few days for me have been insane! My main is loving it. Lol Get out and enjoy it!!
-
I can't wait for purée! Lol there are actually a ton of things you can eat. There is a thread dedicated to purée on here. I don't remember how to get there but enter it in the search section. Also, check out The World According to Eggface. She's got amazing sounding recipes. Basically we just have to stick it out these few weeks and then we start our New Normal.

I want to clarify my previous post. I wasn't trying to be mean to you. I just don't want anything to hurt your chances at success. Not just that, I don't want you to hurt your sleeve. I am terrified of anything doing more damage to my insides than has already been done. Everyone here is here to provide support.

San Antonio sleeved here. I have no issues driving to H Town for a meet. Unfortunately, there is no San Antonio chapter at the moment. Angel

Hey guys! New sleeves here. I'm actually in San Antonio but there is no group for SA. So, if you guys end up getting together, I'd love to join. I'm contemplating a move to Dallas in about a year or two so it would also be nice to know people locally. Hope to talk to you soon. Angel

April 2014 pre-op group
redlove1446 replied to KristinaRnY's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
please check with your surgeon or NUT. I was on complete clear liquids the first 7 days. Broth, sf pops, water, jello (I couldn't handle though bec It was too heavy). Td -
I officially HATE protein shakes!
redlove1446 replied to yolicious1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Me too! Gag reflex whenever I try. Gag reflex every time I try. Sigh. -
We are all hungry. I'm on the full liquid phase, too. Except I'm not allowed yogurt, yet. I also cannot stomach the protein shakes. I add half a scoop of unflavored protein to my soup (after heating it). That's about the only protein I get besides the soup itself. Your lack of energy is probably bec of the lack of protein. I was like that, too. Once I started adding some to my soup, I had a little more pep in my step. You will also stall if you are dehydrated. Try flavored waters. One girl I know swears by sugar-free sonic slushes to which she adds protein. I'm tempted to try it but scared because I dont know if that will break my NUT plan. Good luck! Get some water and protein and that 7 (great job on that!) will turn to 17 in no time!

Yes. Playing with fire. It's not that you might get sick or your stomach won't digest the food. It's the fact that your stomach is healing. Eating the foods before the staples and stomach wall have healed can cause food to get stuck, GERD, vomiting which can lead to too much acid in the new stomCh, ulcers, holes/leaks in the stomach. Have you read any of the forums of the people who have had to deal with the complications? You are a grown person, so only you can decide how to treat your body. Just be aware of the harm you could do to yourself. Not to mention sabotaging the very expensive new tool you just bought to help you get healthy.
