Soo... With all the hype about "Apple Bottom Jeans" I decided to do some research. To my surprise it is actually a brand put out by Nelly, to "celebrate the natural curves of women", with plus sizes too!. AMEN to that! lol.. I live in the deep woods of Maine, and we (to say the least) are a bit out of the loop of fashion. I am originally from Massachusetts, so every time I go back to visit I feel so out of place with my $10 Wal Mart jeans and plain colored v-neck t-shirts. HAHA What's a big girl to do?? Lets face it, there isn't a lot of plus size style to chose from;) Anyhoo.. Today I bought my first pair of "Apple Bottom Jeans" for $59. (NOTE: The most expensive jeans I've ever bought?!) They are super cute and a size 14. YAH! When I lose to my first goal (-50lbs) I am going down to MA to visit- New jeans in tow;) Here's to hoping they'll fit, and that they'll still be in style:blush:.. lol ~Kerri

The Diva- I did the same as well on my week of mushies-2 pieces of bacon.. Ughh! It must be the aroma:) Don't be so hard on yourself! I am willing to bet that this is not the reason why your scale is at a stand still. 16lbs in 19 days is amazing!! You may be at your first plateau.. I am at a wall with my loss currently as well. At some point your body has to catch up and say "holy crap, what are you doing to me?!" It just seems as though we are NEVER happy with the numbers we see. As for me, I am on strike- no scale until Monday! This every day thing is killing me! I put the scale in my husbands truck this morning, and off to work the scale went! bye bye lol.. I think it's so hard to finally be on our "bandster" way, see good weight loss, then all of a sudden it comes to a screeching halt! What a mix of emotions! Keep your head up, and know that you will start losing again soon.. You are soooo not in this alone! Best of luck to you:) Frances- You go girl- You look great! I love the 2/15 "deer in the headlights" look:) Keep up the good work! Lynnt1215- I am with you on the clothes fitting better! I too don't have to tug at my shirts all day to make sure everything is hidden. What a great feeling:) I am having an issue with getting all of my Protein in as well. I feel like there is only so much time in day, and every second I'm forcing something into myself to keep up with the protein goal. Uggh.. This too shall pass:) I haven't had any issues with burping, but a lot of times my stomach makes a crazy grumbling, gurgling noise, it almost feels like my belly is eating me from the inside out lol.. Hope everyone is doing well.. TGIF!!! :)Kerri

Haha.. Hi Sarah:) Yah I'm still here.. Things have been soooo busy since being back to work! I've been working on the Isopure's to try to keep my protein up.. I guess they aren't too bad. I like the fact that I can get in my fluids and protein:) I have hit a wall with my weight loss.. I expected to plateau at some point. No fun. I'm hoping to get over this hump soon, so I can lose the next 22lbs! How's the waiting game going for you?? It's so easy to get impatient, I know.. Have you been going to support groups? I need to get my butt in gear, and get there. I actually enjoy them.. Anyhoo, hope all is going well. I am cooking my Mom's favorite for her birthday tomorrow.. Unfortunately my favorite too eek! lol I will behave, I will behave!! hehe Chat soon:)

I originally recorded that my weight on day of surgery was 245, but I have thought all along I started at 242?? I'm not sure, so either I am down 21 today, or 24 lol.. I was surprised to see any difference.. But I think there is some:) ~Kerri

ME!:w00t:ME! LOL.. My name is Kerri, I am 24, and I live just above Farmington with my husband, 2 beagles, and a cat:) I am the *loud* energetic happy type, and love meeting new people! I had surgery at Maine General in Augusta on March 19, 2008:) I am currently 20lbs down from surgery day, and 27.5 down total! I recently bought new jeans that are size 18, and NOT from the plus section!! yah!!!!!! There is so much more to choose from in the "regular" size clothing.. I am so excited to buy clothes for summer for once:) So yah, that's me! Great idea for this thread, Connie! And congrats on your wonderful success!! :)Kerri

Congrats Texgirl! I too just had the same NSV today! Doesn't it feel wonderful?! You go girl!
-
Glad to hear you are doing better Erika! Good luck with your staple removal:).. Ans congrats on making your household a healthier one! I know it can be quite a battle for me at times.. I don't have children, but I do have a stubborn DH who has the metabolism of a freakin' gerbil.. He loves to eat the stuff I salivate over.. Maybe I'll force some cottage cheese on him?! Good luck tomorrow!

My 25th birthday is June 4, and I have set a goal to be under 200 by then.. That would be at least 23lbs in 2 months.. We can do this!!

SV=scale victory, NSV= non-scale victory, such as fitting into a smaller size:)

Hi Janet, and welcome! Congrats on your hard work and dedication! 32lbs is amazing! This thread is filled with loads of support, wonderful ideas, and great people, with lots of knowledge and encouragement:) It is sure to help you on your way! Good luck to you on your journey. :)Kerri

CONGRATS HARLEY!! I too am finally down 20lbs today! I am down a total of 27.5 from pre op:) This morning I went out and bought myself a new pair of jeans.. I am soo excited! They are a size 18, and NOT from the plus size section?! I cried in the fitting room when the zipped and buttoned. After I gained composure I walked out of the fitting room the woman said "uhh.. do you want me to take care of those for you?" lol.. No thanks, and I walked away red eyed, clutching me new success:) I guess that means I now have a NSV?? :)Kerri

Hi all and congrats on becoming a bandster in March!! I have not yet received my date, although, I got my approval last week and my pre-op is set for the 21 of February.. They told me to expect the first or second week in March, no later:) YAY!! I have been working on this process since July of last year, so to say the least, I was thrilled to get a vague idea:) It seems that everyone got their surgery date really early on?? They don't even submit me for a date until the day of my pre-op.. Hurry up and wait, right? lol.. Looking forward to this journey with you all! :biggrin2:Kerri

Everyone List Your Total Weight Loss
k_podski replied to thebonbon's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Banded 3/19 at 242lbs. This morning I was 223.. 19 down!:cursing: -
Sarah, the Isopure after taste kills me.. It may be just me, because other people don't seem to be bothered by it? I can be funny with tastes and textures sometimes, so it's probably just me:) I have no idea about my port.. I had no time to ask. Unfortunately at my post op I had a bad experience with some things. I'll have to PM you I guess.. I'm not one to complain, I'm a bit frustrated still! I was thinking about the Special K water for during the day, instead of just drinking Crystal light and water... I am still drinking 2 protein shakes a day to keep up on my goal, but if I could have a couple SpK waters, and hit 2 birds with one stone.. I wouldn't have to drink both shakes:).. Just an idea.. I'm going to buy some tomorrow, it's a bit pricey I see?!? Anyhoo, I am off to eat some tuna before heading out to my other job.. Yay for real food! lol :)Kerri

Great thread! I had no idea that some insurances would cover this?! I guess a BL/ augmentation would be stretching it? I could zip those up in my pants now, never mind a year down the road! lol..

Back to work today for me.. I hope I can keep up:) Have a great day all! ~Kerri

I won the KJO Lifestyle Achievement Award!!!
k_podski replied to SherriWittler's topic in The Lounge
You so deserved it! Congrats to you, and enjoy all of your loot! -
I went to the seminar in July of last year, and was banded March 19. The hoops you have to go through may seem unbearable, but you can get through it! It is soooo worth the wait. It will be here before you know it:) Best of luck to you! ~Kerri

Ali has totally worked her butt off. I was so impressed that she kept up with Mark in the challenge! More power to then I never could have done that! I also agree that Mark is looking old. I don't think the beard works for him at all.. I have been paying special attention to the ads in the show now. It's a pet peeve, but also amusing how they try to *sneak* them in there.. Last night was zip lock bags.. As soon as they found out they were going Down Under Mark and Kelly went to the kitchen where there *happened to be* like 20 boxes of zip locks on the counter. They packed up their snacks for the plane ride.. As they arrived at the airport Mark pulls out 5 large zip lock bags with several smaller bags in it.. *look guys, I've filled up these ZIP LOCK BAGS with some healthy snacks for all of us. The best part is the bags will contain our food with no leaks*.. I don't know about you guys, but as soon as I saw that I ran to the closest store, and bought out every box of zip locks I could find.
