My name is Andrea Formosa. I am a mother of 3. I have been battling with my weight for 18 years. up until 2 years ago, I was lucky enough to say that I took no medications. Now I take 8. The last 7 years have been the hardest and I have added 40 additional pounds to my already overweight body. I am half way thru my journey towards my surgery. My insurance required 6 months of monthly Dr. Appt's., meetings with a Nutritionist and Blood Work. It sounded so far away, but today I am halfway done. I am hoping for a late June early July surgery date. I am lucky enough to have a friend who had the Gastric Sleeve Surgery in Oct. and she is so happy and feeling so healthy. I am looking forward to the day when I have energy and don't have to take so many pills for High Blood Pressure, Diabetes 2 and High Cholesteral. I have tried most diets over the last 18 years and some have worked for few months. Once I lost 35lbs in 6 months. But I gained it all back in 3. That's been my pattern. The last few months I have been making better choices and it's been slow, but the 6lbs I have lost have stayed off. Looking forward to reading and learning about others journeys to help me learn and give me strength and support.
