I'm right there with you brightfuture. At my last checkup with my NP of the surgical team I asked her about my hair coming out hand over fist. She said it's usually the worst during months 3-6, she said: make sure to get all your Protein in, try taking Biotin, and she promised that nobody has ever gone bald (I made her promise on that one LOL). I have very fine hair so it's pretty noticable on me. My beautician said on average everyone loses about 100 strands a day but she doesn't want to put any chemicals on my hair because it's coming out so bad. So no perms or color for me! Talk about adding insult to injury! I see her again tonight. Not sure what the game plan will be. All that being said....the compliments are starting to come in....I wouldn't give up my progress for all the hair in china. Hang in there!

Does life return to normal?
sophie'sChoice replied to jjinWA's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hang in there! I was sleeved on March 10th and it took me a few weeks before I could get all my protein and all my fluid each day. After a lifetime of dieting I find my new normal very freeing. I make sure I get my protein and don't dehydrate and that's all I have to worry about! Good luck to you! -

4 weeks post op and have stalled.
sophie'sChoice replied to TXGALINAR's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Although a lot of us struggle with being "regular", stalls are a part of the process. I just came off of a 2 week stall and was going to be disappointed if at my third weekly weigh-in I didn't see any movement on the scale but it didn't deter me from working the program. I was rewarded with a big loss. For whatever reason our bodies sometimes lose inches instead of pounds and if we just stay true to ourselves and the program it will happen! Hang in there everyone!!! -

lastingdreams, I'm glad you are feeling better. It is daunting to know how far we have to go....but it is so inspiring to see that others have gone before us. For the first time in my life I feel like I'm not a slave to food. I'm about 20 years older than you....you can do this!!! -

I'm thrilled to report that after 3 weeks.....I'm rewarded with 10 pounds! I got on the scale 3 times to make sure!! LOL whew! I stop by my PCP's office once a week to weigh so that I have a decent calibrated scale to weigh on.....mine at home is not very consistent. Thanks for the support! It's nice to know we are all in this together! -

Congrats jack! Glad you are on the downward slope! I'm going to weigh tomorrow to see if I have broken my stall or if it will be a third week of no movement on the scale. I will report back! -
Fecal Blockage- Warning: TMI Subject

I was in a "bind" last week so I drank a few ounces of citrate of magnesium chased by a glass of Water and an hour later....all was well. WHEW! I fear the constipation thing as I have only been in a bad way once and that was enough! I'm sorry you had such a rough time of it. I look forward to the time when I have enough room for veggies so I don't have to worry about such things! Good luck! -

I had the same problem and it was because of an Iron supplement they gave me. When I went for my 1 week follow up they told me I could stop the iron. Not only did I have diarrhea constantly but it was black....freaked me out! LOL -
Get an appointment with a neuro-opthomologist. They are best equipped to help you! Good luck!

Protein Shakes/ Powders and such
sophie'sChoice replied to bkennedy316's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
After my surgery I couldn't even drink the protein shake I liked pre-op (Premier) so I understand what you are saying. I'm allowed to use straws and that helps me A LOT. I can suck down a protein shake in nothing flat with a straw and it gets it past my tastebuds for the most part. Good luck! -
