    Dry Mouth

I am about three weeks post op and I am still having the same problem. Maybe I dont drink enough water (I am pretty sure I do) but I am always very very thirsty. Maybe its sugar withdrawal! Other than that I feel great! Glad to hear I am not the only one!
  5. Anyone have problems with excessively dry mouth, even with lots and lots of Water drinking? I am two weeks post-op and all else is absolutely going great, not sick or nauseated, not throwing up or feeling uncomfortable, and not even feeling hungry. My mouth is just so darn dry!!!! Would love your thoughts on this! Tx!
  6. Drama Drama Drama I think everyone needs to remember that everyone is different. No two people are going to recover the same or handle banding or fills the same. I am two weeks post banding. I am now on soft foods. I can eat anything that I could eat if I did not have teeth (per my doctor). I have not ONCE felt nauseated, sick or had a "PB". I know it is early but so far so very very good. I dont feel all that hungry either. I have lost a total of 20 pounds and feel like this is the smartest thing I have ever done! That doesnt mean it is the same for everyone. I think this board is a great place to get information and support. We do live in America and everyone is entitled to their opinion....and to state their opinion. Even if others don't agree. Maybe the people who feel they have been wronged should remember that when you put your feelings and thoughts out there, maybe, just maybe someone might disagree!! Thats life!! Drama drama drama......

La'Bella - You sound like you are doing great too! I have tried lot of different things and so far I have not had any problems....knock on wood! I have been walking and walking and trying to do something active every day. It seems like I lose a few pounds every day or so. I am happy with that ....as long as it keeps up! What protein drink do you use? I bought some powdered whey protein but it made me gag from the taste....i need to go to GNC and hopefully find one that doesnt take like crap!

I guess everyone is different...I have felt pretty good and really havent felt hungry at all. I guess all doctors put everyone on different diets too. I only had one week of liquids then to mushies and now I am on soft. Soft meaning anything I could eat if I didnt have teeth. This is good cuz there are lots of things to eat now! Part of me doesnt really want to eat because I am so hyped and want to lose.....I feel like starving myself but I know that would be counterproductive so I kind of force myself to eat. My favorite so far has been eggbeaters scrambled eggs with a little low fat cheese on top....they are really good! Good luck to everyone!

I was banded on 9/13 - All went very well. I have had no issues really. Not much gas pain, no throwing up, a little regular burping and definitely some incision discomfort but other than that I feel great. I was very disappointed that I gained 8 pounds during my overnight hospital stay! I guess IV fluids, etc. I was really bummed! But I am happy to say that I have lost the 8 plus another 4 pounds since then and I am feeling very confident! I am never hungry and in fact I am a little worried because I hardly eat anything. I am on liquids and yesterday all I did was drink water, crystal light and I had a liquid yogurt. I dont think I am getting enough protein. I just dont think I should eat if I am not hungry! Its amazing I feel so noninterested in food! It's like I dont want to eat because I know I can't eat! Hope the feeling sticks around for a while! I am going for post-op appt tomorrow...going to ask about protein shakes and powders. Good luck all!
  11. Well, an update from me. I got banded on 9/13. Gained the 8 lbs in the hospital but have lost all that plus another four pounds! Things are looking up!! YAHOOO!!
  12. I can definitely relate! So far so good and I too think this is the best thing I have ever done for myself! I know it is just a matter of time before I look like the person I know is trapped inside of my fat body!!!
  13. Two things are motivating me....one, my oldest son is getting married on October 6th. I already bought a dress about a month ago and I am hoping that I can lose some more weight and go by a different dress! I only wish I had more time! The second thing.....its kind of strange but its like knowing I CAN'T eat, is a motivation for me. Its like getting this band turned off the desire for food because I know I CAN'T or I could get sick. Hopefully this feeling sticks with me...since I am only 6 days post-op. But I just having this feeling like I have the very best chance for success right now and I really really want it! That, and I guess I am crazy too!! lol
  14. My surgery was on 9-13 - so that makes me post-op day 6. I am still on liquids - go back for post-op check tomorrow and get advanced to mushies. I am having a problem with not feeling like eating at all. Yesterday I had a yogurt drink and some jello and lots of lots of water and felt full all day. I have not been nauseated or sick at all. I just havent been hungry. Also, I have been walking a lot. I am SO DETERMINED to lose weight ..... I am almost afraid to eat anything. Do you think that hurts if you dont eat anything? I take a multivitamin every day.......
  15. Hi all...I got banded 9/13. When I went to the hospital I had lost some weight on the pre-op diet. I spent 9/13 in the hospital.....wasn't feeling all that bad honestly. Came home yesterday 9/14 and I am 8 pounds heavier than when I went to the hospital two days ago! How does that happen? I figured I might gain from IV fluids but thought by today (9/15) it would start going down. I am down one pound but that is it. Maybe I shouldnt weigh myself so much! I feel sore and a little bloated but otherwise doing very well. No nausea. Not much gas. liquids going down fine! I just want my eight pounds to disappear again!! Anyone have the same experience?
