I started with light cardio after 2 weeks then light lifting after 3 weeks. Mostly machines. No core work until 6 weeks. My recovery was quicker then most. Don't overdo it and listen to your body. If it hurts, stop.

My BP has started to go up in the last few weeks. Diet has not changed. Doctor is putting me on a water pill. My questions are would an increase in workout intensity or a lack of a certain vitamin or mineral cause this?

Should I tell my boss I am having WLS or just say I need medical leave?
catfishhunta replied to christo5's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think it depends on your boss. Mine was very understanding. I told him I had started the process before accepting the job. He even pointed me to a few people in the office who had the surgery already. They were all doing great and their work production and motivation was much higher than pre surgery. I was a poster child for recovery. I took off Friday for surgery and worked from home the 1st week then went back to the office the week after that. Most of my work is done on the computer and I can remote in from anywhere. Working from home distracted me from the minor pain and inconveniences of recovery. RNY 08/16/14 -
6 month diet spacing
catfishhunta replied to dogloverlosingit's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a similar situation when I started the 6 months. I wanted to go as quickly as I could. The first appointment was at the end of the month. I made the next one the first week of the month as were all of the rest. My ins company didn't seem to care as long as they were different months. I have Anthem BCBS. -

I stopped taking my glucotrol and glucophage after RNY surgery. With the limited diet and weight loss my sugar was under control within a couple of days. -

can we do sit ups or crunches.
catfishhunta replied to hopeful2 be slim's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor cleared me after 6 weeks to do crunches. Take it slow and if it hurts you should back off. -
I had mine at Community south with Dr Clark. I went to the seminar at IU/Methodist north but it was too far and they didn't seem very patient friendly. I spoke to St Francis and they didn't seem very organized. Community was very helpful setting up appts as needed, and guiding me through, and answering questions as they came up. I was very pleased with the overall process.

Yes, just mix it in the water.

isopure unflavored. I add it to just about everything. No taste, will make jello and some soups frothier. If you mix it when cold or warm it doesn't clump at all.

I couldnt drink the passion fruit flavor. I love the green tea though. Isopure is a very good source of protein without filler. Buy single bottles to try the flavor before you buy a 12 pack.good luck!!

Getting new clothes
catfishhunta replied to bigjaiali's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am 7 months out and down 120lbs. The first 3 months I was buying clothes every 2 weeks. Now I buy once a month. Luckily here in Indiana Goodwill is 50% off the first Saturday of the month.
