And I have reached one of my mini-goals. 80 pounds gone so far. I was real happy to see the scale move the last pound that I waited an extra day to check it again. The lb is still gone, so that makes it real. One more pound to go to be half way to my goal weight. :whoo::whoo::whoo::bounce::bounce::bounce:

Anyone banded by Dr. Tiffany Jessee--Tampa Bay area
Dave01 replied to Derby's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
She is my Dr. and she is amazing. You can not go wrong with her and the whole staff at Suncoast. -
Havent been here on LBT in months, but just started my C25K this morning. I did a 5k on Halloween morning and really paid for it for the next day, so I am restarting the plan. I have big hopes of a half marathon in July, but time will tell

Been away for a while, but i'm back and back on track. Got a little side-tracked for a while and the weight stayed the same, so now its time to step it up again and go all out. Hope everyone is still doing good....Dave

Anyone have exercise equipment they can recommend?
Dave01 replied to GratefulHeart's topic in Fitness & Exercise
I have to second the Trikke. Its awesome exercise and fun too. Sue, Glad to see you still like your Trikke....Dave -
Does anyone else on here ride the Trikkes? I just picked one up and am having a great time learning the movements to keep moving. Plus, its a great workout. Upper body, hips, abs and legs all at the same time. Check them out at TRIKKE 3-point Carving Vehicles

2 more days of exercise and Trikking done, but the scale is still stuck. On the good side, I am down another 2 inches on my waist, so I must be doing something right...... We now have a 9:30 pm walking /running group, well 4 of us, in the neighborhood, so that makes it nice to have someone else to exercise with. Keep it up everyone. It looks like everyone is doing great. I am still determined to make my goal weight by my bandiversary, but it will be close.:biggrin2::biggrin2::biggrin2:

Salsa, You are awesome. Way to go. I am slowly working up to jogging, but it still isnt a favorite thing for me to do. Maybe i'll keep Trikking for a while and playing on the Quadracer. I did get all of my days in this week and weekend, so I managed to stay on track. Today is weight training and riding tonight, when its a little cooler outside. I'm such a wimp...LOL

Jaymie, Congrats on the new Trikke. Once you get somewhat use to it, you can vary your workout a lot. To work the upper body, use only your arms, carve more and dont lean too much. Its murder on the biceps and chest muscles. Same for the legs if you push harder and dont use the arms much. Core training is good when you make wider sweeping movements, like slalom skiing and it really works the abs and obliques. Your heart rate will stay up pretty good, even with easier riding and making some small sprints at speed. Keep us posted on your progress.....Dave

I have a lot of faith that you will make your goal tonight, but if by some chance you dont, get ready........ Wow, a 4 mile run in itself would do me in, since I'm not a runner at all. Good luck tonight....Dave

LadyBug, I know how you feel. My weight is stuck, or maybe my scale is broken...LOL I got in a good amount of walking this morning, then some Trikking, which was hard because of the wind today. One way was real easy, but then I had to make it back to the car. Boy did a taxi ride sound good, but I got determined and survived. I think I totalled about 6 miles walking and 11 on the Trikke. Gotta save some for the night workout program.......Dave

OOPS, dumb thumb typo. Should have been 6 weeks.....

Mine said to wait 6 months too. After that I started the Body for Life workout by Bill Phillips. It really got me motivated and now I am into alking, weights and Trikking daily, except for my Sundays off to recouperate. Check out Bodyforlife.com

Pop/beer making the band erode???
Dave01 replied to bperkins11's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I chose to stay on the cautious side and gave up all carbonated drinks. Heck, I gave up everything to drink except water and Crystal Light, ot counting my 4 ozs of skim milk daily for my protein shakes. Maybe one day i will try a Coke Zero, but after the initial withdrawl from stopping them, who knows. My dr has a strict rule, which is no carbonated bev's at all. -
Got in some extra Trikke riding tonight and hit the weights for 45 min. I will be feeling it tomorrow though. Cable crunches, butterflies, lat pulldowns and tricep presses all done. Time for another night ride around the neighborhood. Its become a nightly routine at 930, when its nice and cool out.

WOW, hope it heals real quick. I like the no impact part of the trikke. I did have a few muscle cramps when I started, but after the 2nd week, they went away and now I am able to ride up to 15 miles without stopping. By then I am worn out..LOL My latest mistake was riding 4-wheelers and now I have a quad pull that wont go away. Good luck and heal quick. The Trikke is calling you....Dave

Took part of the day off yesterday from exercising and went quad riding for about 6 hours. Wow am I sore, everywhere. Back at it again tomorrow. It was a nice change, even though i did get a 1/2 hour trikke ride in last night.

Another day of walking and Trikking done. Next is a trip up to the cabin in NC for some mountain climbing. Ok, they are only large hills, but when you live in Florida, they all seem like mountains. The Trikke will have to stay home, since its not really made for that type of ground, but the climbing should make up for it. Congrats to everyone for surviving Cinco de Mayo. I splurged and treated myself to a frozen yogurt at Steak n shake. YOOO-HOOO, it was awesome...LOL I was passed on the trail by a man 70 years old on his trikke. He has had it since Jan and has lgged over 120 miles. What an inspiration he is. Now I have another goal to meet. Have a great week and keep up the exercises. Everyone is doing awesome....Dave
-
Congrats on the new trikke. It takes a little to get used to the movement, but the results are well worth it.
-
Got in a 40 minute ride last night on the Trikke and a 4 mile walk this morning. 68 degrees and nice walking weather.
-
Happy May everyone. I'm stepping up the exercise for this month to re-start the weight loss. Mine has slowed waaaayyyyy down, but my clothes fit looser. Go figure..LOL Good luck to all the CraztAtes. You all are an inspiration for me to keep working at my exercise and weight loss. THANKS.......Dave

Its been almost 2 months since my last fill, and I have nearly no restrriction. I forgot what it was like not have any, so I am going in for a quick adjustment. Gotta get back on track with my eating a little. I had a few days of overdoing it a little, but no where near like before I got banded, Thank God!!!!!! Hope everyone is doing good.....Dave

Finally. I have a new, positive thing to post about. I went to my dr for my blood update and they called me to come in for the results. Usually, i get them over the phone, so I was kinda worried this time. When I got there, my dr told me my total cholesterol was down quite a bit and he wanted me to re-do the test to make sure it was right. It went down to 56!!!!!! After a re-do, the test was correct. Now, I need to just get my good cholesterol up and I will be right on track. I just love getting off these meds and am happy with each one I stop. So far, its been BP meds, Triglyceride meds, High cholesterol meds gone, not to mention the sleep apnea going away...Sorry, but I just had to celebrate:thumbup::wink2::thumbup:

Back from the fill. She only added .2 cc since I lost almost a full cc sometime in the last 2 months. Liquids for a day, mushies for a day, then back to normal again. My dr is just awesome. In the office and out in less than 20 minutes.

Need some mushie ideas....please
Dave01 replied to mama59's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats on the 14 lb loss. As for mushies, I ate a lot of Lowfat refried beans topped with ff cheese and salsa. Micro for a little and its very filling. Blended Healthy Request clam chowder was one of my favorites. I still avoid bread, except well toasted pita because it gets stuck with me. FF cottage cheese topped with natural applesauce makes a good dessert style snack. Hope these help....Dave
