BRRRRRRR. I would be staying inside too. It was 78 here today so I got to work up a pretty good sweat. And a little sunburn too.

After the 1st fill why do I think I'm eating to much?
Dave01 replied to Debbie P's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Debbie, its gonna sound wierd, but you may get more restriction in a week or so. Mine takes 2 weeks to tighten up and then its "game on". It will be hard, but pizza isnt a good food choice. LOL I make a generic version out of whole wheat pita and sauce from the lo-carb connection. You can add turkey pepperoni, onions, green peppers and stuff like that. I've only had this once since being banded, but its pretty good. -
Frangipani, Thanks. I went over the 100 lb mark a few days ago and have been hitting it extra hard to make sure it stayed there. The bridge was awesome to walk on. 2 miles each way, so I did it 4 times for 8 miles total. Plus the scenery was great.

Hi, I am new here and just banded :)
Dave01 replied to jvance74's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
About 4 and a half months. Its been somewhat of a challenge, but it can be done. A lot of walking and weight training, plus sticking to a good eating plan really helped. Log anything you eat or drink to keep track of your calories. As far as mushies, refried Beans and salsa with Fatfree cheese, microwaved is good. Blended Healthy choice clam chowder, fresh fruit smoothies with plain Protein powder, mashed cauliflower (pureed) with ff cheese was one of my favorites. Lots of cottage cheese and natural applesauce. -

I'm over 4 months out and still love protein shakes. Wierd right? The mushies were a nice change once allowed and you can be fairly creative with them. -
Body fortress from Walmart in chocolate. Mixed with skim milk and Dannon Fit and Lite yogurt. Its great and lots of protein
-
Time for a new doctor. I realize they can be busy, but you need one that has the time to keep up with fills.
-
Jody, Send me some hills please. I am tired of this flat boring land down here. Today I'm going to the bridge to walk. Its closed to traffic since the new one opened and I am going to see how long the walk really is. Plus the scenery over the bay will be nice

Newby here lots of questions
Dave01 replied to Cookinmom's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Heidi, I hanen't had my band too long yet but its the best thing I have ever done. i did every diet plan, workout plan known to man and was always able to lose weight. But it always came back and usually brought friends with it. With the band, its more of a lifestyle change than a diet. I eat things i like, just small portions, and exercise regularly ( daily). We have people in my support group that have been banded 5 years and are doing great. As you will hear, this is only a tool and it will be up to you to modify your lifestyle to adapt to it. -

Welcome to the ite and congrats on your new band. I have found this place to be a great source of information and enjoyment too. Keep posting with any questions and concerns. -
HELP It's just 7 days since I was banded and..
Dave01 replied to imb316's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats to all here with thier new bands. I am also one that preaches for you to follow the dr's food plan as it will do nothing but help you later. Many people try to speed up the mushie stage or even the solid food stage and its really not a good idea. I did the 2 weeks liquid, 2 mushies 1 soft and only then did I try solid foods. This month or two can make the whole difference in your results with the band. Dont worry about losing weight right now. And as hard as it is, try not comparing yourself and your results with others. People are all different. I did the food journal, still do, logging anything I eat and still do Protein shakes daily just because I like the choclate ones. Good luck with your new "tool". The reuslts really can be amazing. -
I remember how that felt. I actually got to my dr's office like an hour early, just to be sure I made it. LOL Good luck, they are done really quickly.

A Whopping 2 Pounds!
Dave01 replied to Songinmysoul1's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you lose any weight now, consider that a bunus. Now is the time for healing, letting the band "nest" in place and getting ready for your life change. I walked as much as my body would let me and followed my dr's orders to a "t". The loss will come soon enough. Some lose quicker than others, so try to not compare yourself with them. My neighbor had his band a week before me and is now down 47 lbs and still compares his loss to mine. But i never see him out walking and wonder what Domino's delivers that is band friendly...LOL -
How many cc's are in my brand of band?
Dave01 replied to MamaJava's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I tried to do a search, but no luck. I would call your dr and ask. I'm sure they come in sizes just like the others, to allow for proper placement. -
I got dates!! It finally seems real!! Some questions for all of you..
Dave01 replied to LynneB's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats on getting a date. Sorry to hear your family isnt being supportive, but if it helps, we are all here and someone is available anytime of the day if you have questions, concerns or just want to chat. What was really helpful for me was to start the no drinking with meals as soon as possible, along with stopping sodas of all kinds. Have a good variety of soups/broth and liquids so you dont need to go to the grocery store right away. That helps avoid the temptation to get anything you really should'nt have. -
Never tried those, but I am hooked on the Body Fortress chocolate whey from Walmart. 2 scoops with skim milk and a mini Dannon fit and lite yogurt blended is 57g Protein 24 carbs 7g sugars 360 calories I have these twice a day and 1 bander sized dinner
-
Cindy, Mine required only liquids for a day then a day of mushies after each fill. Soup was my lifesaver for day one and blended Healthy Choice clam chowder was great for day 2. Yumm, home made chicken soup sounds great.........
-
Found some new walking parks yesterday and today. Nice trails with scenery. Much better than walking along the highway..LOL Got 2 more days in, with 4 miles yesterday and 5.1 in this morning. Boy was it dark when I started. Going into the gym room for a while today also
-
Tomorrow is my date for fill number 4. I hope to get some restriction with this one. At least some that lasts a while. These bands are so tempermental. Its like they do whatever they want to.
-
I am so excited to make it to this mark. 101 lbs gone since August 30th. Many thanks to a lot of people on LBT for thier support during the last 4 months. I truly could not have done it without your help. Next mini-goal will be 125, with a target date of March 30th. Wish me luck....Dave

GNC Protein Shake suggestions?
Dave01 replied to MamaJava's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
LOL...I have become a Crystal Light junkie and stocked up really good on it. I have found that if you add some yogurt to the powdered shake mix, it really makes it better. -
Thanks everyone. I am real happy to make this first goal. Now on to the larger goal. I'm pretty sure the next goal will be harder to reach, but i'll keep up the exercise and stuff
