Megan, My Dr wanted me to do it to shrink the liver so she didnt have to move it around so much when positioning the band. Glad I did cause it helped get me ready for the 2 weeks after. Hope this helps.... Dave:bounce::bounce:

    I'm Starving!!!

I'm really new, only 7 days post but have just the opposite problem. I found that warm water with lemon fills me right up and usually lasts thru the night. Good luck with the fill.....Dave:bounce::bounce:
  3. I cant comment on a lot of the questions you have since I am only 7 days post-op, but I too have ubstructive sleep apnea( quit breathing an average of 7 times during each of my sleep studies). That is what pushed me into having the band done. My anesthesiologist said it would be no problem, since they were aware of it prior to putting me under. I was in surgery over 4 hours and came thru fine. As far as weight loss, i'm at over 16 lbs in just 7 days . Good luck, keep us posted on yur progress.......Dave:bounce::bounce:

    Desperately need help!!

No fill yet for me, but from what I have read, after your fill, your band will restrict the amount of food you can tolerate. I wouldnt worry too much, but try to avoid the junk food trap. I went on liquids well before my surgery to get prepared for what was to come, so these first 2 stages wont be real bad. Maybe call your dr to ee if you can get your fill date moved up a little? Keep us posted and good luck....Dave

    5 days post op......

I do love the no appetite, but was wondering if it was normal. Before getting the band on, I would have been raiding the refridge looking for snack stuff. My doctor is more strict, with 2 weeks of each liquid/muchy/soft/REAL food LOL

    5 days post op......

Thats quick. I will have 2 weeks each of liquids and mushies, then soft stuff for a week. The good thing is I have no appetite yet, so the liquids are no problem
  8. Lapband, the only choice for me. I like the shorter recovery time, adjustability and the fact that although its not ment to be removed, it can
  9. Hi all. I got my band Aug 30th and just found this site yesterday. One question is how much did you eat after getting the band? I do not feel hungry but am able to eat about 1 4oz Protein shake in the am, about 3 oz of liquid (broth) Yummmm at lunch and another shake for dinner. Is this about normal? Looking forward to reading a lot more on here.....Dave
  10. Shelli, glad to hear you are doing good. I was banded on 8/30 and am just getting started with liquid diets. I knew it was coming, so I got a head start 2 weeks prior to surgery to get my system used to it. As far as the bloated feeling after eating, I am right there with all of you. But I am able to make each day so far with 64 oz of water, which I drank a lot of before surgery anyway. Whats with this tickling feeling in the back of my throat though? I have tried everything I can to make it go away, but I am thinking its from the air tube I had during surgery. I was in there over 4 hours due to some scar tissue removal from a previous surgery. Take care all and I seem to be spending a lot of time on this site finding all kinds of good info..... Dave:bounce::bounce:
  11. Thanks for the reply. I have been averaging over 64 oz of water/ crystal light each day.
