Another day over. Back and forth to Walgreens. 8 miles total and for Florida, it was chilly out. Still need to do upper body tonight and it will be a good day
-
Karri, Moving will be a serious workout!!! Hope everything goes well and you get all settled in quickly...Dave PS. Gonna walk today and pick up the prescrips. They are waiting for me.

I have heard of people having transfer addiction. I have been lucky so far. My trans addition was from food to LBT forums, like many of us.

I found this on a Google search. Maybe something on here... Am I Hungry?

August Bandsters How are you Doing So Far
Dave01 replied to MissNilsa's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Judi, I have a friend that is a personal trainer. He recommended a book called Body for Life by Bill Phillips. I did the BFL plan quite a few years ago. It has a great woorkout regimen inside it. You can tailor it to suite you. Back in the diet yo-yodays, I lost 55 lbs in 2 months following his diet/exercise program and have been using it again since being banded. Hope it will work for you too...Dave -
I have heard that some people actually get tighter in the 2 weeks following a fill. I didnt feel any restriction on my first fill, but can really feel it now. I am up to 9cc in a large band.
-
Dont get too discouraged if you dont feel any or much resriction. I got 6cc is a large band and had none at all. I actuallly wondered if my band was in place. At fill number 2, which was Monday, I really got some, so it is there
-
Val, 4 lbs this week...Way to go. It is much better finally having some restriction. Some mornings I can barely swallow much before noon, but I am pushing it and trying to lose as much as possible quickly. Please let me know if you think your band is feeling tighter in the next 2 weeks. My dr said to expect that. Keep up the good work, Dave

And I thought I was the only one. When I went from liquids to mushies, I still had broth at times. I am finally almost over them though, but on occasion I still have broth when I dont want to cook.

Favorite brands for clear liquids?
Dave01 replied to ladybug3's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I made my own chicken broth. You can do this while making a chicken dish for the family. It really helps if you spice the stuff up a little. It wont hurt, but dont make it so spicy that you need to drink with it. On my lazier days, I had Swanson low sodium stuff with pepper, garlic and greek seasoning added. I got so used to it that I still have it on occasion. -
Getting fills without fluoroscopy...
Dave01 replied to christy071707's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have had 2 fills so far and both times my dr only needed one try to hit the port, without floro. -
Mushies/Pureed - What are YOU eating in this stage?
Dave01 replied to morningoasis811's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I ate a lot of refried Beans, spread on a plate and topped with FF cheese. Pop it in the micro for a minute or 2 and its not bad. Plus high in Protein. Healthy Request clam chowder, blended and seasoned wasnt bad either -
I got a marathon walk in this morning, all the way to Walgreens to refill a prescription. 4 miles one way, but when I got there I realized I left the prescrip. on the table. 4 miles back home, and then I caved in and got in the truck and went back so.........8 miles done today

How the heck to you sip without getting air in?
Dave01 replied to hollyberries's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
This is my way. I take a decent drink of water, but only swallow a little at a time. It takes a little pratcice because you can forge and swallow it all at once. -
Am I supposed to eat even if not hungry ??
Dave01 replied to Mrs SmartyPants's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I try to do 3 meals per day, even though 2 of them are protein shakes. That way you will be used to eating more regularly once banded and it will help keep the refrigerator raids to a minimum -
Well, I had a visit to my primary doctor today and got the results of my blood work. Total cholesterol down from 210 to 95, and no more chol meds. BP down to 116/62 so no more BP meds. Man am I a happy camper :bounce::bounce::bounce:
-
Thanks. I was very surprised at the cholesterol number too. I see my PCP every month, but after this last visit, he wants to see me every other month. Hope everything else is going good with you. Have a great day, gonna go for another walk....Dave

I recently joined the band!!
Dave01 replied to bigron452's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Welcome to the both of you. Start asking away. I just love this site and have to pry myself away from the computer to workout daily..LOL -
I know what you mean. It seemed like my meds were increasing all the time. Now if I can get my good cholesterol to come up, I can bail on some more of them. I want to get down to just the Vitamins daily. Gotta have a goal
-
Mandi, so far I cant eat anything before noon and the Protein shake I have for bfast goes down real slow. But I love it. I told my dr to fill me up to see what I could handle and she did. Last night dinner was minimal, only 5 bites of chicken. But, boy was I FULL. Good luck on fill #2. I'm sure you will do good.
-
Susan, I felt just like that too. It gets better in a day or two. I just got my 2nd one and am real tight in the morning, almost till noon.

A Must Read..you Won't Believe This
Dave01 replied to swstacey1977's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I went thru something like that too. My surgeon pushed, along with my primary dr and got it done. Aetna is the best insurance in the world........until you need them -
August 30th was my band date and 75 lbs as of today. I am able to eat anything in small portions, but avoid bread, sugars, sodas, rice, Pasta, potatoes, anything high in calories/carbs. My exercise routine is walking 4-5 miles per day for 5 days a week, upper body weight training 2 times per week, lower body 2 times per week, like a modified Body for Life plan
