Hi, My name is Amy. I live with my husband in Providence Village, TX.
I am 13 days post-op GSV. So far, most days have been pretty good. Had a rough weekend with dry heaves and esophageal spasms yesterday, and dizziness today. So I googled and found BariatricPal. I'm so glad I did.
I'm hoping I can connect with others who have recently had GSV that might be able to share success advice. And as I continue with my own journey, I will hopefully be able to provide some live & learn advice to others in turn.
A little about myself:
I'm 52 years old and have been struggling with my weight for 30 years. Dieting, losing weight, regaining even more than I started with became a never-ending losing battle. I finally decided to have the GSV.
I'm a registered nurse and already knew most of the pros and cons of surgical choices. At this point in my life, the choice was finally easy. I have a beautiful family of 3 children and 3 grandsons, and a fabulous husband. Can't forget my 3 little doggies that keep my company.
I love to cook for my family. I love baking/decorating pretty cakes for friends and family. I've just started cooking again for my husband. I was afraid that doing this would be difficult for me because I am still on full liquids for 3 more weeks. But I was surprised to find that I had no cravings at all. Yes, it smelled awesome, and my husband said it tasted awesome. But I was not swayed.
My husband and I enjoy going out for karaoke with out friends. We both sing and play guitar, and so do our kids. We are very social, outgoing people.
I'm looking forward to finding and giving any support possible through this website.
