NewLife4Me7 replied to itsmekarenlee's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
[="PRINCESSM"] Not sure that I am. Was told yesterday I cant have the sleeve. Had been scheduled for july 22. Now I need to research the bypass which I would be able to have. I had to get over the fact that I could not get the sleeve and have to get the bypass. I did a lot of research too. I have no choice it's either that or nothing and I can't live like this anymore. -

why endoscopy, colonoscopy?
NewLife4Me7 replied to itsmekarenlee's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Itsmekarenlee, yes a small percent of people get it. My Dad died from Barrett's many years ago that increases my chance of getting it even higher. I haven been on Prilosec and a few others over the years but was not treated the way I should be . For years I took one pill a day in the morning and it was a low dose. Now my gastroenterologist doctor increase the dose ore than doubled it and to take it twice a day before breakfast and with dinner. I have to go back in three months for a checkup. -

Thank you SoniaJ I'm now embracing the gastric bypass surgery. It will all be ok. -
My endoscopy results were not as good as I wanted. I have Barrettes esophagus which are pre cancer cells. I wanted the sleeve today my surgeon said I can't get the sleeve because of Barrettes so now I have to have the bypass. My surgery date is August 18th. I'm a little disappointed.not having the sleeve. I'm so worried about dumping syndrome. I'm if I don't eat fats and sugar I should be alright. Can someone tell how they are doing with the bypass surgery. How long where you out of work?
