  1. Had surgery Mar 26/14... enjoyed my entire support and stay at the Marriot in Tiajuana. Was wondering if there are others out there who used R4aChange and Dr.Garcia Gorvea....terrific doctor! Terrific staff! I am from Update: 12 weeks out 53lbs down...still struggling with water intake and foods...but still trial and error stage right? Hope to hear from you
  2. Hi! I went to Tiajuana Mx too...my rny surgery March 26/14 ...12 weeks out...53 lbs down...feeling good...how about you? Any problems? Would love to stay in touch if you would like...
  3. You are experiencing the gas they fill your abd cavity with for the operation..itll last 3??weeks? Walking helps...i was more energetic in the first few weeks than i am now at 12 weeks..being in Mexico helped! Location and weather makes a big difference....but walking really helps!! Dont worry about the drain...lol..Nooo it dosnt hurt. As for diarrhea I never experienced that at all...so wondering if its something in your shakes? Dont worry getting the protein and Water in is pretty much impossible...but do your best! Watch for dehydration signs...dry skin...to headaches....As for eating normal...lol...remember this is a change in lifestyle...i had rny too..and im glad i will never ...hopefully..to be able to eat like I did pre surgery...so far down 53 lbs...its a struggle to get 65g protein in or 64 oz of water..im sure if i could get all that water in id have lost more...lol.... but slow is good! Congrats on your surgery...get up and walk and do what you can for eating and drinking...remember diarrhea causes dehydration so need to drink more...if you r experiencing alot disvuss with doctor...im sure more of us got constipated lol bc lack of Fiber and nutrients the first few weeks..so diarrhea may be better? Loltrying to be optimistic...and yes your body may switch to constipation soon...so important to monitor your bowel movements

    Considering surgery in Mexico

I always felt safe...even walking up to the mall by myself... i didnt have a job to return to...i also stayed in San Diego for 2 more days bf travelling home..it was difficult...so im glad i did stay...i should have stayed a min of one more day..but 2 or 3 would have been nicer... you could go back to work pretty much immediately....that is after 1 week..depends on what you do..but you may want to take 2 weeks off...

    Self Pay and Scared!

Is there a reason that you dont want to do gastric bypass?? Did you do a lot of research on the sleeve?? Sometimes..a few yrs later.. people come back to get the bypass...im just looking at how much you want to lose ... you r diabetic as well...do you have GERD? OHHH i hope i didnt sound too negative and nor meant to confuse you...there r alot of people getting the sleeve..but from my research not enough long term studies of it and as i stated seems that many come back to get bypass.. i went straight to bypass...am almost y weeks out....no complications... im Canadian and think Mexicos hospital and staff provide wayyy better service and hospitality than what we get here. Good luck!!
  9. Hi!! I went down to tiajuana by myself...im from Northern AB Canada... I had Dr. Fernando Garcia Govea and had a great experience with the staff and hospitality bw the hospital and hotel. You will meet other patients pre surgery...or post... its very exciting...best of luck!!
