Surgery was a breeze. Spent one night, then home by 2p the next day, which is not the norm. Nausea started 3 hours after getting home. Never vomited though. Drinking just wasn't going to happen. Zofran called in to pharmacy next day helped greatly. Felt much better 36 hrs later and was drinking 52oz+ from there on (4th day post op). Surgical pain was minimal. Never felt the weakness that some report. Now on 3rd day of pureed. Its a catch 22 between eating protein every 3 hrs or drinking to get 64oz in. It is an adjustment that will take time to learn. Guess thats why they want you off work 4 weeks. Normal to wonder if it was the right thing to do first week post, but not now. No regrets. I want the old Margi back from 12 yrs ago!
