I know, it was a moment of weakness. My wife had some Chicken Tikka Masala and I took a sip of the gravy. It was as delicious as always, just burned when it hit my gut. That made me worry that I might never be able to enjoy spicy stuff again.

I was just about to start a thread about this very concern. I also have noticed a decrease in volume. I think I get more protein now than before surgery. My fluid intake is fine and frequency is the same. I'm with the OP, I liked dropping large loads. I noticed a different the first time after surgery when there should have been more. My dr is a female so this will be awkward. Kinda.

Yogurt and now a bit of pain?

I bought a protein powder that I mix with water or milk. Recently I added a couple tablespoons of half and half to the water. It taste better than just milk with a lot fewer calories and carbs. I like it because it's thinner than the shakes and seems to settle better. One scoop is 30gr of p and I can get it down in about ten min. It's called platinum hydro whey if anyone wants to try it. The cheapest place to get that I found was vitaminshoppe.com. Serving for serving it's about the same as premier shakes -
Not sure if I'm imagining it but it seems like my sense of smell is more acute. The bad part is that I can smell everyone's breath. It's quite off-putting. It was much more noticeable right after surgery and has since diminished some. Am I the only one?

I was told by the surgeon that if you have a leak it will be quite obvious. High fever and evidence of infection. I thought the same thing right after surgery because of a lot of discomfort where I imagined a leak would be. It was due to trapped gas left behind from surgery. It took about a week to subside.

I had surgery on 2/25. I also had a lot of discomfort from the gas they use to expand the abdominal cavity. It seemed to take about a week to finally be absorbed and stop bothering me. For protein, I bought platinum Hydro Whey. Look into it. It's super easy absorbing 30gr per serving and taste ok. I'm having a hard time getting my protein any other way. Love the sugar free Popsicles. I think I'm down 25-30 lbs. from the 25th. -
I'm three weeks out. I'm not having any difficulty with fluids but solids are not agreeing with me at all. I'm sure it's just a little too soon. For protein I bought this platinum hydro whey. It mixes well with nf milk and taste great with 1%. It's a hydrolized whey protein, very low in sugar and 30gr protein per serving. Then it's been sf Popsicles. I eat those things back to back.

I think I'm having the same thing. I had surgery on 2/25 and I can't find anything that wants to go down 'right'. I don't have the nausea but I do feel like I'm going to vomit when I eat. I just fight the feeling till it passes. I love the sugar free Popsicles. I'm sure it will get better it's just gonna take time. Right now I'm doing about 60gr of whey in LF milk and a couple spoonfuls of refried beans a day. And half a dozen Popsicles.
