Hi desig1814! My nutritionist recommended Smooth Move Laxative Tea and it worked wonders for me without giving me diarrhea. You can pick it up at Walgreens in the laxative section. Also the warmth of the tea feels good on your pouch. Best of luck!

two and a half months out
Cody Englehardt replied to Maineman's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Maineman! I found that I was eating to fast at first too, but I feel like each day I get slower and slower. have you tried putting your fork/spoon down between bites and just focusing on chewing? Another thing that I did at first to help me with slowing down was download a bariatric eating time on my phone. You can set it to go off every minute or minute and a half and that helped me really think about slowing down cause I wouldn't eat till the timer went off. Also cutting my food into super small pieces has seemed to help too. Best of luck! -
I am having the same issue with the dizziness. I have slowly been trying to increase my water intake each day and I have found that this helps. Another I do is always try and get up slow, I found that if I just jump right up the dizziness is worse. I am just a little over 2 weeks post op.

Getting in the protein?
Cody Englehardt replied to pupichupi's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
pupichupi - Have you tried making your Protein shakes with half Water and half milk? That is one way that my nutritionist suggested that I make them. Another thing she told me is that a lot of people have issues with lactose post op, so she has me use Smart Balance Lactose Free Milk when I make my protein shakes. I am also 3 weeks post op and the protein shakes don't bother me one bit. I was a little hesitant to try the lactose free milk at first because I was scared it would have a bad taste, but it actually tastes just like milk. Best of luck! -
April 2014 Post-op

Congrats on your surgery! My surgery was on March 24th and I was in a bit of pain that day, with all the air they fill you up with. My surgeon had me up walking within 4 hours of getting out of surgery. I found that the more I walked the less pain I was in. I was on Tylenol with Codeine for pain and it worked wonders. I wish you the best of luck and can definitely say the best advice is to stay moving!
