Recently Lost a Best Friend Because of My Decision to Get Bariatric Surgery
Jersrose43 replied to Sharon C.'s topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Maybe I read this differently than everyone else I don't think what she said was so horrendously bad. Yes she's coming from a place where she thinks that this is a cure and it isn't But she's also coming from a place where she has suffered an eating disorder and is happy where she is today. She considers your decision a validation of the wasting disorder. Misplaced yes many of her rants are on her blog But can I say that you are both losing a friend or choosing to end friendship for valid reasons. Both of you for health reasons. Yours physical hers for mental and emotional reasons. It's ok to have a friendship end. It's sad and I am so sorry it has happened but it is what it is. She likes being a large woman and it seems like she has worked hard to get herself into the mental place she is at. We shouldn't hate or judge her either -
June 24 in north jersey 2 week pre op diet of 2 shakes and liquids and one lean meal a day I am easing into that by starting now with leaner meals then replacing lunch with a shake then ease further and further. The anxiety is heaviest when I am home and not working like today. When I am working I can manage to distract myself

That's the weirdest thing I've ever heard. You should've asked for that in writing and appealed it

How much was your out of pocket?!?
Jersrose43 replied to Gonnabeslim1day's topic in Insurance & Financing
I wouldn't panic I'd ask lots of questions of your insurance. Ie how much deductible you've met, maximum out of pocket etc. Get educated on the financials and you'll be fine -
Cigna Center of Excellence 2+ hours away
Jersrose43 replied to Luvin_Life125's topic in Insurance & Financing
I am sorry to hear this. Is there another center in a bordering state ? If not you might want to have a conversation with Cigna to see if they have options for you such as a hospital local to you that may be affiliated with the other facility Good luck -

Did you get a receipt? I'd call hospital immediately. Or did you pay the doctor? If so he isn't going to give the hospital ant money

You should have this back by now. Hope you got approved! -
Most insurances are through an employer policy Many employer based policies are self - funded and under the ERISA laws are able to cover and not cover whatever they want The insurance offers a cafeteria style plan or Buffett if you prefer, and employer picks the meal he wants to buy. He choose not to purchase wls He could also choose not to cover chiros or acupuncture if they so choose Ppaca/obamacare plans are required to offer a complement of minimal coverage. You can always purchase one, confirm it covers wls, and use it as your secondary plan to pick up the costs.

You should call them or go online to determine who the approved surgeons are. They have a list and then you can just call each kne to see who has availability

Columbia NY Presbyterian Doctor - Bessler
Jersrose43 replied to yologirl's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
That's exactly what I liked about him too I originally wanted a lap band and saw Schrope. She recommended sleeve due to complications and such Then I found out she was out of network for my plan. And the office put me with bessler. He was very straightforward and to the point and why didn't I want rny. He was also against the lap band unless I felt completely certain that was what I wanted. So sleeping it is with bessler. Now if they'd ever give me a date .......; -
