MS Bipolar and med changes
Jersrose43 replied to kimpossible67's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I haven't experienced any of this. But my hubby lost 45 pound in 2014 and 30 in 2012 and he's had all his meds change in dose several times. Especially his insulin. His body just doesn't need the strength of his drugs. He started at 200+ and last week he was at 150. -
Post Op diet- Pureed phase right away?
Jersrose43 replied to snowkitten's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I went from liquid to puréed. The amount of time you are on liquid seems to be different by surgeon. -
None of the points are untrue in this article I think we can all agree many of these are possible side effects. However I found this particular paragraph quite interesting ; Paul Ernsberger, PhD, Case Western Reserve School of Medicine, wrote this commentary in response to a reporter's request for information on the controversial subject of weight-loss surgery. November 1999. 1999!!!!!

I am not ignorant nor trying to debate you. If like more information not just your say so I certainly haven't felt nor seen nor been involved in any anti wls conspiracy. I have people who don't understand my decision around me. But it's them accepting my decision and me choosing to let their ignorance go. Thank you to the other poster for posting a link.

The rule is Cigna has 5 business days If it needs a medical director review it could be 10. Never heard of it taking longer unless there was a specific reason (pending document). Yes I do work there.

Looking for a home scale that I can use to track weightloss journey
Jersrose43 replied to Yasman's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I have an aria scale as well and love how it syncs with fitbit to tell me how much I still have to go. And apparently keeps track of the fact I have 40% body fat -
I thought I was (fill in the blank), but really, I was just fat.
Jersrose43 replied to LipstickLady's topic in Rants & Raves
I thought I was a happy foodie who wore a size 8 in her head. Turns out I liked food a little too much, it was really an 18 , and I was fat. -
Why cause you said so? Send me a link to the expert source who has the info thanks

Viral Chest infection and vomiting
Jersrose43 replied to lblondon's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
First, you seem a little irritated and your tone sucks. Your original post said absolutely nothing about pleurisy. So folks in here answered your question the best the could. Glad you saw a doctor to get appropriate treatment. No one on this site can provide medical advice. -
Anxiety about upcoming surgery...is this a good idea?
Jersrose43 replied to advocating09's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Can you get a friend or parent to go with you? I am afraid to fly so my anxiety would be right there. -
I've seen nothing to support this.

what do I tell my boss?
Jersrose43 replied to Amarie812's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Since gastric sleeve was originally for the treatment of ulcers. Stick to that if he insists in needling you. That will also deal with all the weight loss you'll experience. If he asks why you never said anything. Before. You're a cleverly private person who doesn't like her business put out there. But remember you are protected by FMLA. if you are taking a medical leave you do not owe him any explanation at all. Your job is protected. That's why I didn't want to take a vacation. No protections. I think you're being very "nice" and considerate to tell him anything at all. I would just say that you've realized after discussing with your physician that you will be on a medical leave and will be filing appropriate paperwork. And tell him dates. If he asks, you'd rather not say it's very personal medical information protected by HIPAA and FMLA rules. And that's it -
Oh wow. Glad to hear you're feeling better

I was sleeved June 24 and here are some things I've been doing to overcome this mental torture see if it helps you. I am in purée stage until Monday. Then soft foods First I made a commitment to myself that only 1 meal will be cooked In this house. No special diet for me that's different. It makes me depressed. Everyone is eating high Protein and low carb. Lean meats. I just purée mine and sit with them. It makes me feel better to know we are all eating the same thing. Mine just looks a little different. I've scoured Pinterest, skinnytaste and other sites looking for great recipes for the family that I can have puréed. I am Portuguese Which although Mediterranean has a lot of carb/starch based foods. And I miss them. So I've actively been working on changing the recipes and fiddling so I can have certain things in my new life. Not all have been succesful but give me a break 2.5 weeks! On the days kids has friends over and they all want pizza. Well I made myself a dish of warmed ricotta with some provolone and Parmesan and added a spoonful of pizza sauce - 2% mozzarella melted on top -- and well not exactly pizza. It killed my desire. I have found it's easier to try and make everything normal and just purée myself. That's all.
-
I immediately jumped to the positive side if it. I was in a stall and it moved me out of it. Don't stress it. It happens. I won't be eating these again for a really long time
-
I think it's normal in the beginning. Just making gas.

Good luck!

I have mid back pain and it was from the 25 pound loss so far. I also experienced same back pain when I was pregnant and gaining. And then again when I lost pregnancy weight. So large fluctuations cause me back pain All in same spot
