Support letter
Jersrose43 replied to number1rudegal's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Ask another doc you see. Doesn't have to be a pcp Obgyn if you're a woman A specialist you see for other conditions -
Target had different kinds some for more support and some for less support. Tailoring it to your personal preference. Each type sizes differently. So some are 38-44 or S, M, L ETC.

I am sorry you're having a hard time. The first week was hard. Nothing appealed. I just started losing my tastes for things last week. If you have a whole foods near you they sell different sample sizes you could try to see which you like. Vitamin shoppe also has a couple but not many near me. Take it slow. Stay with jellos, yogurts, Soups and next week should be better Good luck.

Tried the chocolate and strawberry. If you like Quest you'll like them. I don't like Protein bars though. Not crazy about them

Jersrose43 replied to leelee2728's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was outpatient but was in the hospital for 23 hours and one overnight stay. Outpatient isn't what everyone thinks it is -
Then work out a part time schedule week one. Have doctor put that in the note and the. Go back

I went to target last week and they had all different kind that were great
-
If they keep paying to stay home then stay home another week. Enjoy this little honeymoon if possible. If not then make it clear to them you may get tired easily and may need to do a couple shorter days in beginning but won't know til you get there.

My weight has increased 20 pounds from my stable point over the past few months....
Jersrose43 replied to throwaway557's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think you weren't ready then and you certainly aren't ready now. Someday I hope you are. Good luck to you and I hope you give yourself a fighting chance. But I don't think you will. Sorry -
By the way when I eat every 2 -2.5 hours on schedule I do not get hungry ever. I put the alarm on my phone
-
Idalia- I am hungry you're not alone here I have started eating soft foods last week and make sure to eat something every two hours like clockwork. A half hour too long and my tummy becomes a raving lunatic. Then I eat too fast and I get cramps really bad and overeat. Trust me it is not acid. It's hunger. I now carry things with me wherever I go. Like today was a banana. Had to be out this am and ate couple bites at 10:15. Then was out in pm and ate a few bites around 3.

Restaraunts will hold the bread if you ask them and serve something on lettuce or "naked". That's what I ordered today for lunch at a diner They had tuna special. Tuna on white or rye and a cup of Soup. Got soup to go, tuna on lettuce. Managed about 3 ounces of tuna Ate quarter the pickle and a bite coleslaw Soup for dinner. Yum

Does anyone regret it?
Jersrose43 replied to XForeverYoursX's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
4 weeks out and I don't regret it I think of myself as a foodie and like to eat out. Originally thought wouldn't go out for the rest of year. Well I was wrong Been out like 4-5 times. It's all about the choices! I won't be eating the buffalo wings at BW3 but I will be eating the naked tenders no problem. I may only enjoy a couple bites of something and not a buffet but that's ok it just makes for better choices for me. I had ceviche last weekend - well one bite of hubby's and it was octopus. Delish. I enjoyed a really great steamed fish for dinner and he lunch next day. Yay!! -
Wow you're amazing. Very happy for you!!

Have you noticed getting more acid or just feeling more energy drain with ursodiol? I now take it before bed because I can't stand the way it makes me feel. I did notice a slight stall when I started. Just lost 1/2 every 3 days instead of pound a day. The. Went into a stall for almost two weeks

Trouble swallowing pills?
Jersrose43 replied to GingerSlim's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was told to open capsules and crush pills until my first post op visit which was at 2 weeks. The. Was told continue to the 1 month mark. I think you're supposed to crush your stomach can't digest those things just yet. Swallow with yogurt or whatever but straight crushed always gave me worse acid then ever -

Jersrose43 replied to charlie707's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think it's normal for a man who is heavier to lose faster. Go you!! -
Am getting moody and I think a bath would be great. Am 4 weeks post op All incisions look good and closed. I forgot to ask last time I was I. With doc. Thanks All!!

How soon can i take a bath?
Jersrose43 replied to Jersrose43's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Excellente and thank you. So missing my spa moments! -
Actually all gastric sleeve requires a medical director to review it. Nurses and "regular" people aren't allowed to make decisions regarding medical necessity. Must be a doc Does that make sense?

SUBMITTED TO INSURANCE
Jersrose43 replied to BetterNai88's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Better - 7/22 to 7/23 is not enough time. Insurance companies have docs submit and it goes into a "queue" that's then reviewed by a specific department responsible for the item. It still has to make it's way from intake to that team. Give it a couple days. Like 3 at least before a lowly customer service rep can see it. -
Prolapse with A & P repair
Jersrose43 replied to wendymichelle48's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
So based on that. I would it didn't affect you since it's a nj teensy organ repair but definitely something to ask BOTH your surgeons to comment on.
