First congrats! Second, I thought I bruised easily holy cow! Don't get down after surgery when you look like a pin cushion. Ok ? Promise? It WILL BE WORTH IT! Congrats!

Mary. Although I understand and agree with you since I hated waiting an extra 4 weeks for a spot post insurance approval... The fact is that those of us on here who work in the healthcare field are routinely educated on privacy laws, ethics law and what to say when and how and WHERE This office committed a gross violation. The Uniidentifiable part only applies to HIPAA. They still violated the principles of the ethical relationship. It's not acceptable. That aside you're right. Backing out three times blocked three other committed people to this journey and they are heartbroken. They'll also be supremely angry if they'd been sitting there.

Out 7 Days & Pissed

Not negative Incredulous -
I'll think you'll get more out of: Going through your own appeal and documenting weight loss or steadiness except during those times Enlisting the department of insurance - scarier than a senator since they know the state regs Take all appeal levels and if one is offered I person/on phone- take it- be factual, clear and do not show over emption

Out 7 Days & Pissed

I just don't understand why you did this My ass would've been driving to the doctors office if it was that uncomfortable. Anything could've gone wrong. Anything could still get infected. I hope your client friend understands the potential liability. Once again a clear lack of advocating for oneself in the healthcare realm. -
Why were you denied by Aetna in the first place? The senator may not be able to help if it's an exclusion

Stall and Adipex

I took adipex pre surgery and I HATED it I will never do it again It is speed. It works temporarily. Pre surgery I used it to lose ten pounds and it made me very jittery all day, I could conquer the world and I definitely had to remind myself to eat But as soon as I came off it I gained it all right back. I am surprised your surgeon gave you these -

Can you describe the symptoms a little better? Is it just dizziness or are you eperiencing pain? The dizziness may indicate something not stomach stage related -
Nexium - do I take once a day?

Thank you for posting this thread I have been having issues. Moved to 40mg omeprazole twice a day and still feel it coming up into my throat. I bought gaviscon and it doesn't seem to help. It lasts maybe 10 minutes I pop tums like candy -

A drain- a tube with a bulb or bag at end to capture excess Fluid from within your body. Not everyone gets one -
Made my first big mistake (3 weeks out).

I can't do watermelon. I tend to chew it and suck it and spit out the remaining fiber. I did canned peaches and pears no problem A raw banana no problem -
Slow weight loss
Jersrose43 replied to madwife2002's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I am about 7 weeks out and down 39 pounds total since the pre op diet began. So technically also "slow" I guess Couple things Don't compare yourself to others just causes depression anxiety and it's not worth it Every pound you lose is done with good lifelong habits which means they won't come back! So if slow is the way your bod wants to say goodbye to that old friend it's ok. Its not a race. You any the other people walking and running together are friends not competitors. It's more like a tough muddier where you leave no man behind on the team! Make sure you are getting your Protein right and your Water I know that is my biggest challenge. The days I get 80 G protein I don't necessarily get all my water The days I get all my water well I don't get all my protein. Self caused frustration But the days I hit them both -- omg-- I tend to drop quickly. Like 2 pounds It's a struggle. But it will come off -
I plan on going to doc regularly and complaining of whatever!! My insurance covers paniculectomy at 18 months post wls if it hangs down a certain amount.

Yes I think we all get the headaches it's giving up sugar or soda maybe. Not sure where you are in eating. Some people got them from caffeine decline.
-
My nut didn't ask me to but I modified my diet pre op to prepare for the 2 week pre op diet All my nut asked me to do was start practicing slow eating, definitely cut sodas which I had done so last year and that was it.

Why are some weight loss surgery patients so clueless?
Jersrose43 replied to VSGAnn2014's topic in Rants & Raves
I am so sorry you felt this way and hope you can come back and post galore. I am 7 weeks out and post lots. I am also sorry you didn't get the support you needed from your health care providers. This is my serious objection to doing surgery outside of the us. And further a serious problem we have in not advocating for ourself as a patient. We are entitled to good healthcare and damned if I am not gonna get it. Everyone should. It's a basic right. Not everyone can or wants or knows how to advocate for themselves which is why they come here sometimes looking for help. -
Omg! I hope you are ok!

You know lately have been trying to reduce the amount of acid and tracking foods that cause more acid. What I have noticed is when I have more acid episodes the more I lose my taste for things. Has anyone noticed this? I went to my dentist for a crown and while I was there I begged her to look at my teeth as I felt my guns were swollen. She said it was the acid and I will need cleanings more often if I suffer from acid. She mentioned that my taste buds are likely changing as well - acid. I hate acid. Never had it before so this is not pleasant after effect

Nightmare journey to weight loss goal

There is another member on here RJ who has had numerous serious complications, and she doesn't regret it. Hopefully she will see this and chime in. -
Congrats - yes NALC rents the cigna network, they make their own rules. Many unions and other companies do this. The rules therefore are different than traditional cigna rules.

I am so glad I am not the only one with severe fears of vomiting. And now I know the name for it! That was the biggest fear I had with this surgery and I was scared to death of it!!
