Denied- Should I be calling my Insurance Co?
Jersrose43 replied to KSTUZ's topic in Insurance & Financing
You need to ask for a peer to peer review. And I believe you were denied for gaining weight pre op? But was medication related? So have the doc who have you medication write them in regards to side wffect of the drugs. -
Medicare - Part A Deductible
Jersrose43 replied to LainieG's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Lainieg I just noticed on a prior post you have Medicaid currently. You need to keep it. Make sure you meet guidelines for both the federal medicare program and your states Medicaid program and you should be covered in full. You must meet both sets of requirements though -
Medicare - Part A Deductible
Jersrose43 replied to LainieG's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Medicare part a deductible works a little differently than most commercial insurance The part a deductible is not a yearly amount that you meet and are done. It is charged when you seek inpatient hospital care. And it is charged every hospitalization but if you have multiple withinf 90 days it is charged only once. You have per day copays as well that are high. It is really important to have good supplemental insurance. A medigap plan. Or consider a medicare advantage plan which is medicare administered by a private commercial payer such as aarp/united bcbs etc Your part b deductible is met once a year by your docs and renews every January. Confirm with your doctor if you are going to be inpatient or outpatient classified. It's a huge financial difference for you. Please look into it before the surgery. Pm me if you need help. -
Forced to be put on birth control after surgery?
Jersrose43 replied to tfarr's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Does it occur to anyone that this person may know how OP feels about birth control and so not to be judged she said the doctors made her take birth control? I had a co worker once quite judge mental. I didn't give two hoots. She asked me why my husband and I who had been married five years had not had kids yet and if I had problems. It wasn't any of her business I was challenged by pregnancy and was on clomid etc. But I told her I was on the pill and that kind of prevented it. Well one of the other girls in the office a month later was also eh subject of her questions and angst. She had been married 10 years and hubby already had 4 kids. He wanted to wait until they were in their teens to have another child. She gave some crock and bull story about having a medical condition that required birth control and that getting pregnant would be a miracle. -
I hope the best for you. Mental illness is not an excuse or a crutch. It just is, we don't judge those with cancer. There have been some grwat suggestions here I hope your physicians adjust your meds to your new needs I hope you're able to talk to someone this has been a large change for you. I also like the suggestion of reaching out to those ladies at the gym. Just remember we all complain about the excercise. Some good natured some just cause, it doesn't mean they aren't willing to do the excercise. They obviously keep coming back. It would help you to talk to them. Make new friends. You may not feel so mean to them if you got to know them and their motivations. Motivate each other. Good luck to you.

Am about 9 weeks out and have significant problems being able to burp. Everyone else seems to be a burp magnet. Not me. It's so bad that sometimes in the middle of eating I finally get a small burp out but up comes the slime too. It's gross and well upsetting. So today my hubby decides to pat me on the back after lunch. Just like you would a little baby. Seriously. Just like that and well I friggin burped. Well I broke down crying like a baby. I have no idea why I just did and still bothering me. This isn't the worst thing that could've happened. Big deal. But being burped like a baby helped and upset me incredibly.

Broke down in tears today for a stupid ass reason
Jersrose43 replied to Jersrose43's topic in Rants & Raves
I did talk to doc at last visit two weeks ago. He said very very very small sip of seltzer or soda. Did that after dinner. It seemed to help. That and yet another pat on the back. -

If your employer plan excludes it then no nothing you can do. But you should call Cigna to determine what the situation is correctly

It is normal to send to the state you reside in. Feral bcbs is managed by a local state blue program even though it's a federal/national program and benefit

BMI, Self-Image and Unexamined Thoughts
Jersrose43 replied to Sara Kelly Keenan LC's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Magazine
I am not concerned with where i stop. I will know when I know. I would like to be150. I think it's possible. My surgeon would like 175. Also possible. 130 maybe a little harder but I will keep riding this train until it reaches a station and I won't be reviewing a bmi chart -
Have you checked your sugar levels??

My plan is to start documenting all the "skin issues" I will be having. I'm starting fairly soon. I was sleeved 6-26-14 My insurance is clear on panni - must be 18 months out from wls and have issues with skin irritation etc and must hang down a certain amount. even now with a 40 pound loss I can see the belly will be an issue. The extra skin never went away from my first pregnancy where I gained 60 pounds. That skin just filled with more fat over the years n So planning to get the process started soon. It's already itchy as heck under the folds. Will be finding a dermatologist soon

I like the new name. Yes if people read research there would be no new blogs here. I mean do they not know how to use the search function. Guess not.
