eating constantly!
Jersrose43 replied to Sunnyskies2283's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Am 2 months out -6/24- and I eat evry 2.5/3 hours or I find myself a starvin marvin Breakfast at 830/900 (3 ounces oatmeal or Special K or 4 ounces yogurt) Snack 11 (usually cheese or deli meat or a piece of fruit) lunch 1-130 (today was a really whopping meatball couldn't finish it) Snack 3:30-400 (roasted chick peas and 1 ounce beef jerky) dinner never beyond 7 ( hanger steak today. Will see how that goes in a few minutes) If I go beyond 7 I get really bad acid. -
I would love to know how you're getting 1000 calories at a month out? I can barely get to 700 and was sleeved 6/24 I've lost 45 pounds and am not really counting calories. I use my fitness pal to track and am managing all my protein. Come up short usually on water and calories are low.

Bariatricpal scared me shitless
Jersrose43 replied to elpasovet's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
You know not every who seals surgery comes on this site. So some folks complain and vent and have complications. But there are many more who don't. And they all aren't actively posting here so you can't go by that. I've had a wonderful experience. This site prepared me for the worst and I've had none of it. Worst part is acid and some days are worse than others. But so what?!?!?! I am wearing a size 14 dress. I've lost 45 pounds in 3 months. I no longer have the need of an asthma inhaler multiple times a day and no more blood pressure pills. -
Empire plan insurance
Jersrose43 replied to kimmerzj29's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
There are two empire plans in NY for state and city employees. Please be clear which is yours. They make it confusing on purpose. There is empire bcbs and there is the empire plan from united health. So which is yours? -
Chest pains could be gas. Sip slowly no gulping and walk. A lot! The walking should alleviate the gas pains

Like a baby ! -
I am on omeprazole 40mg twice a day and still have acid Water or any drink seems to make it worse. I've done crystal light, lemon, lime, fruits, ice tea, coffee, milk. Etc Milk for some reason keeps acid at bay longest but not long enough. I pop tums like candy. Ready for a new ppi I started 40mgs twice a day just two weeks ago. Missed two doses on a business trip this week and it flared up massively. My surgeon didn't think I was having acid but more overrating San drinking. Got news for him

Qualifying means eligibility for financial assistance. You can buy it anytime you want it from any carrier who offers it without financial assistance provided by the government -
Angry, embarrassed, worried after second weigh-in
Jersrose43 replied to jessiquoi's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
That's great! Good luck and tell the office next time to offer encouragement through this process. Not discouragement and floggings. Now remember no net gain! Seen too many people going through issues with that so keep up the good work and make it happen. -
Angry, embarrassed, worried after second weigh-in
Jersrose43 replied to jessiquoi's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Ok take a step back a moment. Did your insurance tell YOU that they would deny if you didn't lose weight? And when are they looking for this weight loss? Does it include the pre op liquid diet where you will lose 10-15 pounds? I never believe office people. I get this from the horses mouth. Some doctors offices require a weight loss. Not the insurance. Go talk to them. -

Get other insurance! Take advantage of obamacare open enrollment in October. Do the research of who covers what and get prepared. Pick up the other coverage and the drop it after. -
I took it for about a week at a month out. Made me have such horrible acid I had to stop. I still have acid and heartburn constantly but my stomach just can't deal with actigall

It's great from grocery store but if you go to an Islamic restaraunt as I did 2 weeks out and it has a humongous amount of olive oil take a pass

The Soft Solids Effect
Jersrose43 replied to almosthome's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think 5 ounces of liquid may be too much at once. Try soft foods like the fish and at that stage I was getting 2 ounces and feeling very full. That was perfectly normal. At 8 weeks out I can do 4 ounces. My surgeon told me he never wants me to eat more than 6 ounces at one meal ever in my life again. I am ok with that -

Medicare - Part A Deductible
Jersrose43 replied to LainieG's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think you have to find out if you qualify to continue receiving the Medicaid. Again check out medicare.gov and see if you qualify for programs there to pick up costs as well due to limited income. -
Medicare - Part A Deductible
Jersrose43 replied to LainieG's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You have to call or go online with medicare.gov You may qualify for financial assistance they can assist you. At least with prescription coverage through part d for sure. The medicare supplemental plan will cover copays for those items medicare holds you liable for. Additionally if you decide to go with a medicare advantage plan and qualify for federal subsidies based on your income, they can pick up any premium costs for those plans. I hope that helps
