  1. I did pretty much the same thing gave up my coffee, then my white carbs rice, bread and Pasta. I wouldn't rush into the drinking of the Protein and the Soup. I was fine before surgery with them but now I cannot even look at Protein Drinks or soup for that matter. I am hopeful this will change. I had lost 16 lbs pre-op by changing these habits and it also helped at home getting the family ready for the change and focus on the type of food we eat.

    Good luck on you journey!

  2. Went to cvs this morning and bought Centrum liquid multi vit... I just could not handle the chewable Vitamin it made me nauseous. Still not hungry but trying my best to get the Protein down. Cannot stand the taste of sf Jello for some reason and had to result to pudding with Protein powder. Wish me luck the eating part is such a struggle - seems so weird that eating was once my biggest problem.... eating is still a problem but now it is the opposite.

ps liquid vit wasnt bad - not great but better than that disgusting chewable.

Aloha and hope you are all doing well.

  3. My nutritionist told me it is normal not to want to eat. If you aren't hungry, don't eat! Just make sure you get your Water an Protein Shakes in and that is enough. Don't force it and don't rush it. I'm 3 weeks out and sometimes I only get one meal in, sometimes none. Just be sure to get your Protein and Vitamins and you'll be ok :)

Thank you i needed to read that. I will make sure i get the protein and vits. Thanks again i was stressing out .

  4. Had my surgery this morning. I am so hyper. Found out that I was given more than enough anesthesia and thwy had to reverse it. I tell you what I was in recovery for 3 hours side affect of the reverse was my blood pressure was high so they were monitoring it. Positive affect possibly very little pain... like 0-1. I am one of the lucky onrs, the nurses are saying. Had one slight case of nausea when I went to the bathroom for the first time but it went away at first by relaxing my mind... so they gave me meds just in case. It's about 12 hours since my surgery I cant sleep still hyped but I am not complaining. Went walking around the floor. Such a relief for now. Hope everyone else is doing well. I am very thirsty not hungry at all. That sponge lollipop is my favorite friend use it about every 10-20 minutes to keep my lips moist. My hospital gave me lip balm, I didn't even think of that so those of you who haven't had surgery yet should consider bringing some.

    Thanks for all the support.

    I will check back later.

  5. Thinking of everyone having surgery today and tomorrow.

My surgery is tomorrow, I am a little nervous, but can't wait to be healthy.

Final day of pre-op diet, that diet kicked my .... but I am sure glad that it will help me cope with the eating yet to come.

Thank you for your support. I hope all goes well and everyone has a speedy recovery.

    Aloha!

  7. This is my first post, but I'm looking for some words of encouragement for my surgery tomorrow. I hope I'm posting this in the right place. I have to be at the hospital at 5:30, so that means getting up around 3 a.m. I'm so excited to start this new part of my life! Any words of wisdom?

There is a group called March 2014 Surgery. Lots of post you can read about some of the things others are going through.

The best to you for your surgery tomorrow. = Take Care!
