Hi I'm a newbie here and I can tell you that I will need all the help I can get. I have read many posts from people who had their surgery and were in a lot of pain right after. I had my surgery in Mexico with Drs. Carmelo and Reyna and it was the best experience ever. I flew into San Diego on Thursday evening. The hospital driver picked me up and took me across the Border. I stayed in the hospital Florence in Tijuana. It was so nice. The staff on hand were wonderful. I stayed Thursday night in the Oasis Hotel which is a part of the hospital. The room was very nice. I had my surgery on Friday afternoon. The only really painful part of the surgery for me was coming out of the anesthesia and feeling a terrible sharp pain in my shoulder. Other than that I was just a little sore. I was taken to my room and after about two hours I got up to walk. That wasn't too bad except I was dizzy from the pain meds and had to wait another fifteen minutes to walk. I walked down the hallway and back again a couple of times but then I was exhausted. I went back to bed and fell asleep. After waking I was so thirsty and I couldn't have any liquid, which is normal. Shortly after waking the doctors did my leak test and I was approved to have liquids. My first choices were apple juice (too sweet), herbal tea(yuck), jello (good but sweet) and water. I mostly had water. The next day I just rested in bed or walked. I did quite a bit of walking to ease the soreness but didn't have a whole lot of pain or nausea. Thank Goodness. On Sunday I left for San Diego (Spent three hours waiting to cross the border) and spent the night at a hospital close to the airport. The next day I flew home and on Tuesday I was back to work.
My experience has been great all around except I have a little pain at my incision site and I cannot for the life of me figure out how I am going to get enough protein in my body.
