Hi, I too don't get full as fast as before but I think it's because our tummies are finally healing. I still can't eat a lot but I don't feel as yucky when I eat now. I did increase my calories and I lost five pounds last week. Go figure. I started drinking bolthouse protein drinks and that has help with the protein and the calorie increase. They have tons of carbs though, it is working for me. The good news is that I had pasta last night and it didn't even bother me at all. Woo hoo.

I found that when I add crystal light (even though it's not something I used to drink) to my water I can drink more.

Thank you so much. I am going to increase my workout and see if that helps. I try to eat more calories but am not having a Lot of luck there. If I eat too much I am miserable. The only issue I have with calories is that the best way for me to increase calories also increases carbs and of course I don't really want to do that. I'll keep posting . Thanks for the support

Thanks so much! Please let me know. I had my surgery in Mexico and I don't have a nutritionist here so any information provided would be VERY helpful. Yep. I'm in your boat. I believe it's time to call the nutritionist. I know our bodies will hold onto weight to protect itself thinking we are trying to kill it on super low calorie intake. But it makes sense that if you burn more than you consume it should come off no matter what. So, I'm calling an expert. Will let you know what the word is....

Ok So, I've heard all about the stupid stalls. I am 9 1/2 weeks out and have lost 36 lbs as of this morning but I have not lost an ounce in three weeks. Help!!! I am so discouraged at this point that I don't even know if I am coming or going. I try to remember that not only did I have surgery but I have bought a house, and I am working super long hours but I wonder how long before I start losing again. I am living on around 450 calories per day and I always thought that if you consumed less calories than you burn the weight will come off. I know that just breathing I am burning more than the 450 calories that I am taking in. Its very frustrating.

Congrats! This will be an awesome experience for you. Just take it slow and easy and follow your doctor's orders and you will do great!

best options for mexico
luvinmytat2 replied to mgolden1984's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I actually took out a personal loan to pay for the services. I used Lendingclub.com and got my funding in two days. It was really easy. I live in SC so I flew in to San Diego and the medical center driver picked me up upon arrival. I got in really late so when we got to the hospital I filled out a little bit of paperwork and then they took me upstairs to where they have a hotel. I spent the night in the hotel room and early the next morning they brought me down to prep for surgery. I had my surgery and spent two nights at the hospital then one other night in San Diego (only because my flight was early in the morning). I flew back on a Monday and went to work on Tuesday. I've not missed a day of work yet but I will tell you my job is fairly easy and have an assistant to do the things I can't do. You should check out medicaltourism.com and the lendingclub.com. Medical Tourism will give you several options to choose from as far as Doctors go. I chose Dr. Carmelo because the florence Hospital looks more like a US hospital. I hope this information was helpful. If you need anything else just let me know. -

Hi, I went to Mexico for my sleeve on the 4th of April and it was wonderful. I used a company called medicaltourism and they were incredibly helpful. The hospital I chose was the florence Hospital in Tijuana and the Doctors were Dr. Caremelo and Dr. Reyna. Nice hospital, excellent staff, and no problems. I have been home for 9 days and have had not a single problem. I hope this information was helpful. -

Travel/Support Buddies for Mexico Sleeve Surgery?

Hi, I just got back from having surgery in Mexico. Where are you going and are you using Medical Tourism? If you use medical tourism they will meet you in the hospital and they will keep you company before and after surgery. BiBi was with me most of the time I was there and she was wonderful. I'm not ready to go back but I had an awesome experience while I was there. -

Thanks Linda! I'm trying to do all that I am supposed to do. I am lucky that my job is easy with absolutely no heavy lifting and I sit at a desk. I've been here for 3 and a half hours and have managed to drink about 12 oz of Water. Not much but its a work in progress.

I was sleeved on the 4th but I don't have any problems with drinking. I get that weird feeling also but its not really bothersome. My question is... I lost nearly twenty pounds on my pre-op diet and have lost nothing since surgery. Is that normal? I'm kinda freaking out. Thanks,
